my favorite fun fact about jasper is that because they’re the hatchling of two spaceflight pilots, they’ve really gotten to be fascinated with space and learn about space flight <3 they’ve loved the stars since the first time they’ve gotten to see them with their own eyes!!
some more family headcanons:
jasper lives in a family home with their guardian gossan (and feldspar before they went missing 10 years ago)!! it’s a very warm place for them to come home to, and has various rooms like a living room, kitchen, bedrooms, etc!!
hal often comes over to Jasper’s home like it was their home; as a result hal sleeps over in jasper’s room in the same bed, so they can talk with one another, and they also cuddle & hold each other’s hands <3
gossan very much approves of this, and makes sure hal knows they belong and are welcome to come over any time!! (they also know about Jasper having a crush on hal but they let Jasper figure that out on their own terms)
the house was built before Jasper came along, as a way for both gossan and feldspar to live together <3 many housewarming gifts were brought over by the founders!!
i feel like family in general can be anything hearthians want it to be; there’s not one strict way of raising hatchlings!! jasper is primarily raised by their guardians however they are a quilt of everyone who’s ever loved them, and in a way they consider them family too <3 it’s a fluid thing!!
