On lighter note, I'm glad Fragrantica became such a meme here, because it made me learn more about what differentiated eau de toilette, eau de parfum, in terms of intensity and duration... and learn what opening and base notes were! I could discuss it with mama and her coworker, so it felt really nice to be able to take part in an adult conversation about something that's a more common and age-typical interest (perfume.)
Even though I was generally not a fan of perfume, given I'm a bit asthmatic. ^^;;;; I can handle some lighter scents, but the stronger stuff makes it harder to breathe! Might also be sensory issues, too...
I had to give away an Eau de Parfum (the only one I ever bought! ... I usually just used body mists after a bath or my Japanese Cherry Blossom eau de toilette), I absolutely loved (I have loved maybe two perfumes in my life), because it hurt my throat, even though it smelled so good, I kept sniffing my wrist, fff.
(For anyone curious, it was a [locally made, so excellent, since these are all scents Middle Eastern perfumes are very familiar with] dupe of Delina Parfums de Marly. The perfume smells like roses, enough like rose water that it makes me think of (sweeter) traditional Middle Eastern sweets and the vanilla makes me think of western sweets, after a little while, you mostly smell musk and incense, but it's so good!!!! Tasty... but it was too strong, alas, so I gave it away, since mama did love vanilla scents, like Vanilla Voyage.
