"Kitten In The Backyard" (Or "Revelation")
I found the kitten corpse when the Sun was at its zenith
belly full of flies, full of their young - yellow white maggots like
teeth buried in its infant stomach -
and the thought was like a heavy palm slapped between the shoulder blades: Unfair.Â
They burrow inside the ill-prepared womb,
force it to nurture far beyond its time
greedy cuckoos whoâve gravely misunderstood
their role in the circle of life.Â
Flies should swarm the old - the infirmed and the broken. And the kittenâs fur is not yet matted;Â
it still shines in the sunlight. Yet they perch on its skin,Â
skitter across the milky eye.Â
Lay eggs in its entrails.
I wished death on them in that moment; on their young, on all their kind -
but the hate only weakened my resolve, already so drained
by the Texas heat.Â
And I would need my strength,Â
And it was not the fault of the flies.Â
And so I took to the backyard and dug the grave.

Post-httyd 3: Eretlout before and after marriage.
Eret and Snotlouts relationship is strange, complicated. But they mend it and fix it as they go.
thanks to @julesisblue for being a beta-reader!
a sneak peek for part 3 of anything but "i'm in love with you."
Jamil sighed, leaning back against the headboard of his bed as if the weight of the conversation was becoming unbearable. âThis is stupid,â he muttered, his tone laced with irritation. âYouâre wasting your time, Azul.â
Azulâs fingers tightened over the edge of the desk, his patience thinning. âYouâre avoiding the question.â
âDidn't I already tell you to forget about it?â Jamil snapped, his eyes flashing momentarily before he looked away, his tone regaining its measured calm. âWhatever I said that night doesnât matter.â
âIt matters to me,â Azul said firmly, his voice cracking ever so slightly on the last word. The desperation was creeping in now, fraying the edges of his carefully composed demeanor. âWhy are you doing this? Why wonât you just tell me?â
Jamil closed his eyes briefly, exhaling through his nose as though trying to keep his composure. His reply came slower this time, his words deliberate. âWhat does it matter, Azul? Youâre the one so eager for answers. Why donât you tell me?â
Azul blinked, startled by the sudden shift. âWhat?â
Jamilâs gaze met his then, a glint of something unreadable in his dark eyes. âYouâre so desperate to know the reason,â he said, his tone steady but carrying an edge. âSo tell me, Azul. What do you think it is? Why do you think I asked that question?â
The deflection was glaringly obvious, and Azul knew it for what it was. But the way Jamil delivered itâcalm, unyielding, almost tauntingâthrew him off balance.
Azulâs throat tightened. Jamil was forcing him to confront his own thoughts, to say aloud the very thing that neither of them had dared to address directly. But Azul couldnât bring himself to answer, not yet.
Instead, he stared at Jamil, his mind a whirlwind of emotions. He couldnât decipher whether Jamil was trying to push him away or pull him closer, whether this was a shield or an invitation.
The room felt stifling, the silence between them charged with unspoken tension as Azul grappled with how to respond.
Azulâs voice was low, steady, but laced with a daring edge. âDo you want to know what I think?â
Jamilâs eyes narrowed, guarded yet intrigued. âI wouldnât have asked if I didnât."
Azul took a deep breath, leaning forward slightly. âI donât think you hate me as much as you claim to.â
Jamil blinked, his face momentarily blank before his brows furrowed. âWhat are you talking abouââ
âI think you love me, Jamil.â

Till June
A piece of advice (whose source I donât remember) told me to wait to decide About falling in love, until youâve seen that person through all the seasons. That it takes an entire year, to really know someone.
You and I? Weâve made it from fall to spring, but still nothing yet. And while your skin is the softest and safest Iâve ever been wrapped in, I donât think us, shown in different lighting, will suddenly be enough, We're stuck now waiting. Waiting for what? I don't know. Do you know? (For this to be better, we deserve better).
Caught up in so many âI donât knowâs,â we got stuck. (Iâm still learning to recover from always saying nothing). So instead, i'll soak up Portland's blossoms, as I don't have the words to tell you today, that I don't think I'll make it, till June, For now, I'll write it down.
Character designing for an upcoming special project w/ mayoland!
Haha, squalos-vois-senpai! Do you want to have a sneak peak at your award? (SORRY IT'S SO LATE AND CRAP)
