ok now the question of whether will asked for the stick because he was so proud of mack and it’s just so amazing that his boybestfriend was playing in the fucking olympics with crosby and mcdavid and mackinnon OR did mack just bring a stick back and was like here you go here’s a stick that will constantly remind me of one of my greatest accomplishments but i also probably think of as one of my greatest failures i would like you to add it to your collection of many other hockey sticks (which mostly consists of sticks from your idols) sitting in your parents house
thoughts on the stickgate situation?
I know there are three moments that could be considered 'stickgate.'
Let's talk about all of them.
The first one is when Will went to train at BU during the offseason and ended up leaving his stick there.
There's that famous video of the BU players finding the stick and wondering how it got there, it's so funny.
I love that story, but unfortunately, there's nothing too magical about it.
That's because his coach trains at BU, so that's why he was training there.
What fascinates me here is knowing that when he walks into the BU facilities, he comes face-to-face with a huge poster of Mack.
I'd love to see his reaction when he first ran into those pictures of Mack.
The second moment was when Grace posted that TikTok story of Rigney, but you could see Will's stick collection in the background, and one of them belonged to Mack.
People started speculating whose stick that was, and apparently, it was an Olympic stick or something like that.
I think that's so cool, it's so neat that he has a stick collection with sticks from his favorite players, and that one of them is Mack's.
Besides being friends, it's obvious that Will admires Mack for the incredible player he is, and the fact that it's possibly an Olympic stick makes it all even more special and valuable.
I love the fact that Miss Americana has a Team Canada stick in his house and displays it with so much pride!
And the last one, this one is interesting, what about the fact that they possibly have copies of each other's sticks?
Which is insane because of the sponsorship situation, Mack having a Bauer stick identical to Will's, and Will having a CCM stick identical to Mack's? insane, but I love that for them tho.
ok ok wait correct me if im wrong but. mack played with the number 17 at the olympics. 96 at worlds last year i believe. and 17 at world juniors. right?? so is this stick from THIS YEAR as in RIGHT NOW ???
