Guess who went for STD testing
today I went to planned parenthood and got tested. It’s been a while.
That’s something people need to do, especially if you are poly, which my current partner(s) and I are. So there I was, playing that, like, one-sided mix of truth or dare and never have I ever with the nurse. Some things I said today: “uh, still figuring that out, actually - non, uh, non binary, I guess?” “so when you say anal, you mean just body parts, right? toys don’t count? Right, then insertive only, yeah” “Blood exposure? Yes. Um, semi-accidental injury during sex. Like three times in the last month.” “Yes, about 5 years ago. My partner at the time and I were poly, and one of her other partner’s partners wound up with gonorrhea and let everyone know and we got tested and subsequently treated for it” “Condoms. 100% of the time. Shit, wait, there was, uh, so like, 98% of the time. oops.” Then she like, dared me to let her stick a couple needles in me, and we were done. We had a nice little conversation about my questions regarding the current state of research into male birth control. I paid based on my income and donated an extra $50 because reasons, and I left. Everybody should get tested regularly. Don’t put it off. Make an appointment. Planned Parenthood will see you for nothing if you have no income, and they ask questions like “is it okay to say we are planned parenthood when calling this contact number”. The nurse thanked me for sharing my gender identity with her, I was not made to feel embarrassed about any of the things I said, GO GET TESTED. Having *recently tested* as a ready answer for your new partner or hook up is satisfying and surprisingly sexy.
