As a trans person. No it's not. I think we're forgetting that it still wasn't stated IN the show. Gooseworx confirmed it, but it was never stated IN the show. It was only hinted at stronger in episode 9. If you don't like Jax being trans that's really a YOU problem. But all that talk about it being so forced is PURE bullshit. And saying Jax is only trans because she's a self insert is also BULLSHIT. Like genuinely what do you think a self insert is? Personally my self insert oc is ALSO TRANS. Gooseworx owns the character. She can do with her as she wants. So genuienly stop being so dramatic about it. If you don't like it then Jax isn't a character for you. MOVE ON.

But. I do though agree Jax would've made more sense as a transmasc. But Gooseworx can do what she wants with her characters. It's not the fans decision.

Why do you automatically assume that characters of the opposite gender have to be in love with each other and can’t just be friends. Y’all are doing the exact same thing your getting worked up about. But it’s fine because they’re supposedly straight?

People geek the fuck out when someone says they enjoy a non-straight ship and start legitimately defending with their life just because someone enjoys shipping FICTIONAL CHARACTERS TOGETHER. There is SO much more to Annabeth than just being blonde and white. Her dynamic is BARELY about the ‘Dumb blonde’ stereotype.

Her entire character dynamic is that she feels like she constantly has to prove herself because A)Her dad pretty much kicked her out of the house at age 7 because she was a demigod(Which was HIS fault as he’s the one who fell in love with a god) and B)Her mom is goddess, the goddess of wisdom at that. How is Annabeth supposed to live up to those standards? She constantly feels useless because all of her friends have these super cool powers and all she has is the fact that she’s smart. And she also feels like a failure because she’s the daughter of one of the smartest beings to ever exist and she STILL fails sometimes. She failed to save Luke. She spent 8 months searching for Percy and drove herself crazy because she couldn’t figure out where he was or what happened to him. She was supposed to be smart, why couldn’t she figure it out? She was one of the smartest people in camp. And she felt like she was failing everyone when she couldn’t figure things out.

again, there is SO MUCH MORE to Annabeth than just being blonde. If you ‘can’t relate to her anymore’ then you never related to her in the first place apart from the fact that you were blonde and white.

I can relate to Annabeth perfectly(and I’m not blonde), and I get her struggles. I understand what it’s like to be considered ‘gifted’ at such a young age and then suddenly start struggling at 12. I understand what it’s like to feel like you’re constantly failing everyone, like you have to earn everyone’s love. I understand what it’s like to doubt yourself every single day.

of course it did. because apparently, if something is grammatically correct, well-paced, and doesn’t have a typo every three words, it must have been written by a robot. god forbid a human being actually knows how to write a clean, coherent sentence. shocking concept, truly.

not every piece of writing needs a quirky little typo or an unhinged run-on sentence to prove it came from a Real Person. sometimes people are just… talented. sometimes we revise. sometimes we have beta readers. sometimes we read our own shit back and fix it. wild, i know.

also. ALSO. the ai detector you’re using to call people out for possibly using ai? is also ai. so now we’re just feeding ai to fight ai with ai. what are we even doing anymore.

i’ve seen like five threads since last night alone and it’s giving full-on salem witch trial energy. demanding people test their favorite fics in some sketchy website just to “make sure” they’re real? be serious.

and like, yeah. ai in writing is a thing. and it can suck. but i would be so offended if one of my readers just randomly stopped trusting me because some stranger on tumblr told them their fav authors might secretly be using ai. like damn. not even a “hey, i trust you” moment. just vibes and paranoia.
