to very quickly get something’s out of the way, yes I kept writing ms perumal and not miss perumal- it’s to late now 😔 also yes, I do feel like this fic does suffer from mischaracterization, that comes from trying to think about what they may be like years and years into the future since people change, and accidentally creating this! all I learned from writing this was that I never want to write romance again, and that my favorite character dynamic is a genius who can’t realize they are in love.

The fic started out as very Constance heavy, which I liked because the idea of writing two characters feelings and describing them seemed daunting, especially as a member of the ‘I don’t feel this’ community (aro) but I just couldn’t do that to myself. Writing Sticky is so fun to me same with Reynie! I wish I had more reasons to include Kate but to be honest, I just didn’t find myself seeing her in certain places:( I wish I kept the vibe the same and didn’t shift it a bit half way through. also here’s some things I wrote down as a joke because I didn’t know what to do next in the story! “The two kiss and everyone from the series pop up in the back seat shouting “We told you so!” And then sharpe and mccracken attack everyone”

“Sticky confesses instead because he’s going crazy basically, and Reynie’s like ‘hs I love you too!’ And they kiss ig? Idk how to end a romance”

I definitely struggled with the ending in fact I have what I wrote down as ideas saved because I just find them funny (one was: a scene where Reynie and sticky are just totally not cuddling and Reynie goes “did I ever tell you I loved you?”And sticky goes “what”?) but ending with them just sitting in the car as Reynie says he was maybe the slowest he’s ever been in his life while Sticky’s honestly just crying because he’s wanted to hear these word for like 10 years + almost got them into a car accident because he wasn’t looking at the road for 1.2 seconds seemed good enough! Although the half of the ending being sticky falling face first onto the driveway and Reynie patching his face up in the kitchen as Constance calls them and is like ‘I know what just happened, can I plan a real wedding now?’ Was originally a joke because i thought it didn’t fit the characters well but I didn’t know what else to do so I just wrote it in. This is all the reasoning behind the last thing written being ‘ “do i need to plan a real wedding?” ’ because I didn’t know what else to write lol

I also wanted to mention the more negative emotions that I feel like are often blindsided when talking/writing about unrequited feelings because if your mind is stuck on thinking about someone for hours on ended, obviously you’re not gonna feel very good, especially if you don’t think they love you back

currently working a jjk fic, which I really am enjoying writing, so hopefully chapters of that will roll out soon, but yes I’m still working on tmbs circus au, just not really.
