So I joined my school's anime club. All we do is watch anime. It's pretty awesome. So we watched five different animes to decide which one(s) we'd keep watching. We watched Toradora, Steingate, Welcome tothe NHK, Black Lagoon, and Baccano. Slight opinion/review below~ Toradora: eh, it wasn't bad. Slice of life school story about a weird guy and this super tsundere girl. We only watched the first episode so I don't know what's going on with the plot (if there is one) but it wasn't terrible... Steingate: ok this one's interesting in an odd way... It's basically about time travel and this "mad scientist" guy with weird friends and it's just odd. It was kinda interesting until it just got confusing... Like having this girl die at the beginning of the episode, have weird stuff happen to time, then find out she's perfectly alive and well at the end of the episode with no explanation... Yeah. Welcome to the NHK: ...okay this one... Is special. Like... Cracktastic. I have no other words. Like seriously, the creators had to have been high on something to make this. The plot itself is actually kinda good, but... Everything else is probably a visualization to what tripping on acid would be like. I have no other words. Black lagoon: ok this one was awesome. This was one of the ones we agreed to keep watching, just cause it's so awesome. The plot was a bit confusing at first (something about a Japanese worker guy taken hostage but not really idk) but with the BA sarcastic swearing girl shooting out everyone and the hostage worker guy figuring a plan to save them that involves shooting a torpedo at a helicopter (and it actually working in an epic way) it's just awesome. We watched that one as a dub which wasn't bad at all. I wasn't a fan of the girl's voice, but everyone else was pretty good for a dub. Baccano: The other one we agreed to keep watching. I'm pretty sure this one's a bit more well known? Well it was interesting... We only watched the first episode so it was super confusing and I had no idea what was going on... But I guess it was supposed to be like that. idk. Lots of shooting, people that apparently don't get wounded even if they're shot, stabbed etc for some reason, and a hilariously unfortunately named train that I'm not going to type out... But it's very unfortunately named but hilarious. Just go look it up on your own lol. (also I heard that the english voice actress for Al in fma:b is in baccano?? Or maybe I'm thinking of a different anime? I'll have to look out for that voice) So yeah. Anime club is awesome. Except when you have to deal with hulu commercials... That's not awesome.
