but i was playing snow white, and i had no idea what i was doing, and i don't do ballet, i don't know it, so it was kind of me just running around stage and flinging my arms everywhere and hoping it looked okay. but apparently that was what we had choreographed, so good on my muscle memory for overriding my mental memory there.

and there was this woman sitting in the front row, in a spotlight for some reason? and i think she was the director of a rival ballet company or something, because she kept making disparaging comments about my performance: "this isn't ballet," and "you call this pussfyfooting around pointe??" and i was so distracted that i fell, and it was traumatizing, and the performance stopped there because i was unprofessional and hid in the wings so i wouldn't have to go back on stage. or maybe i got injured? idk haha

so after that, my director found me hiding in the wings and he looked like geoffrey rush! just he had a large belly, and was very very concerned about me thinking he was taking advantage of me in some way. and so he gave me a pep talk - you can't listen to what she said, i think you're doing great work, just do your best and no one has any right to criticize you, your style of dance might be more acrobatic than the usual ballet dancer, but it's just as valid - when i told him that i wanted to quit. then he told me that i had three more performances of snow white, and i had to get back into the game.

then i went backstage (and somehow got all wet and so i needed the clothes that my parents had? idk that didn't make much sense) and saw all the members of the company. and the company? they didn't like me much, but when they saw me, they came and gave me flowers: "we kind of wanted you to fail and we purposefully jinxed you and everything, but now that we see you, we feel bad and we want you to succeed now." and i burst into tears but i took the flowers and i hugged everyone and became determined to give the best performances of my life from now on.

and then there was the practice montage, with beautifully lit lessons in pointe (because i was somehow starring in a ballet without knowing pointe???) and like rechoreographing scenes or something? but my partner was lovely, and i can't remember if he was a love interest or not - i kind of hope not - and he was able to lift me over his head with much ease.

so then comes the final performance, and there's music and really really good dancing, and there are seven female dwarves instead of male dwarves, and their dance is awesome, and there's like this awesome death scene for me, and it's actually on pointe!!!!, and then my prince comes and brings me back to life and lifts me over his head and i am hella flexible (like really idk how i got that flexible) and it's a total success and there's a standing ovation.
