Happy Fankidtober to all who are participating this year! I think I’ll post some drawings here and there for this month instead of doing a drawing a day.

To start off, here are a couple of fankids returning from getting culled a while back! Their names are Alvin and Brittany, Blake’s partners in Team Dauntless. Alvin was originally a Pierce/Domino son, but I decided to change it to Pierce/Jessebelle instead cuz I thought it was more interesting lol. Brittany is now Attila/Hun’s daughter for simplicity’s sake; before, I had them split up as Attila/Annie and Hun/Oakley.

As for the partners themselves, Alvin acts as more of a handler—briefing the others on missions and supplying them with what they may need. Although raised in Team Dauntless, Alvin feels no obligation to them—something that his parents aren’t happy about. He takes a hands-off approach towards his assignments whenever he can, preferring not to be physically involved if he can avoid it. Brittney works in the field with Blake as his equal. She is shrewd and haughty, often looking down on others and thinking she’s hot stuff. She does not take loss well and hates it when things don’t go according to plan.

A lot of stories tend to have the oc immediately accept zane but for jetta she would be confused. How someone so human could actually be made out of metal? It takes her a while during which she really studies him closely

I think it makes her jealous because she was raised to express zero emotions while Zane was programmed to experience them

Of course she realizes how asinine it was when one of the ninjas call her out for being insensitive

Zane is just as confused himself and struggling with newfound strengths...and weaknesses.

When she gets her first serious injury in battle Zane panics and rushes to her side

"Don't worry about me I'll be fine"

"But Jetta you are simply human, I can take the brunt of the force...You don't have to sacrifice yourself for me. I'm Just a robot."

Jetta scoffs with a smirk and replies: "Hmph...even with a heart made of metal you still insist on being a hero."

Zane is the one to teach Jetta how to cook. I mean she knows how to cook but he's the one who taught her how to ENJOY cooking and not just for survival purposes

In Rebooted Jetta gets a job as a security guard for Borg and she's slinking around and sees Zane talking to Pixal and she feels a pang of envy

After his sacrifice in Jetta shut herself up in her room for days until her remaining friends come to see her; she's not crying she's actually meditating

She decides to use her new BORG Staff and a piece of Zane's core/essence to power her weapon and goes off with Lloyd becoming an official ninja

Zane gave her the courage to stand up to her old family; before she was afraid of them despite having run away from home moons ago

Speaking of moons Zane can get very close images of the Moon and stars and shows them to Jetta as a courting present

Meanwhile Jetta uses her money to buy cookbooks and bottles of special anti-scratch polish (lemon scented!)

After s10 Zane is the one who convinced Jetta to forgive Odette for misleading them//working with the SOG

And in turn Jetta helps him forgive himself for what he dis as the ice emperor in s11

Snowball fights. Lots and lots of Snowball fights. Jetta thinks she won because of her sneak attacks but then she feels something wet and cold struck her at the back of the head

Turns out Zane analyzed every pattern and Reversed Uno'd her XD

He likes to brush her hair feeling the soft rose-colored locks trailing from his fingers

For context, back in early May after reading a bunch of decades-old entries on LiveJournal, I decided to set myself the challenge of writing 100 one word prompt ficlets based around Attila/Buson x Hun/Bashou (steelshipping). The plan was to categorize them into 10 categories with 10 ficlets in each (e.g. 10 angst fics, 10 fluff fics, etc) so that I could tag them effectively (separating NSFW, fluff, whump and hurt/comfort etc) while not clogging up the tag with a massive 100 entries.

Anyway, this didn't wind up playing out as planned. For one, my word list did not inspire as much as I predicted and I wound up doing The Thing (coming up with a fic idea and then assigning it a vaguely-matching word). I could've just found new words or made up my own but that would've kind of defeated the point. Then I struggled to figure out exactly what categories to use, since most of my fic are angst, hurt/comfort or fluff with not much room for ten entire categories. The restrictions with assigning and categorising took away a lot of the fun of it, so I kind of hit a wall with writing. Creative restrictions can only be so fun.

On top of that, the Henohenomohejiverse shit made it even harder to properly categorise things. What started as a one-off fanfiction separate to the challenge (Henohenomoheji) turned into an entire secondary AU with a corresponding series that I developed over a couple of months. I made some lore slides for my Henohenomohejiverse Pokemon AU that Tumblr just loves to hide from the Hun tags. The vast bulk of the ficlets that I wrote during the challenge turned into Henohenomohejiverse ficlets, with very few (four, at the time) that could be considered fantasy AUs. I wasn't sure what to do with the AU fics since at that point I wanted the challenge to be HNHNMHJ-specific.
