Make Your Floating Drawing in Just 3 Steps
Using a dry-erase marker, you can make your drawings float. The solvent that dissolves the ink ingredients will evaporate as you draw on the spoon (or plate). The color pigment and polymer are then left on the spoon. However, because it contains an oily silicone polymer, it does not stick to the spoon. Because the polymer prevents the drawing from sticking to the spoon, when you dip it in water, the water can slip underneath it. Finally, the ink floats because it is lighter than water.
let's go and Make Your Floating Drawing in Just 3 Steps
Materials for this activity (floating Drawing)
1. bowl or a plate which has a smooth surface
2. Dry-erase markers/ whiteboard pen
3. Room-temperature water
Make Floating Drawing step by step.
step one - Create something with one of your dry-erase markers on your first plates, such as a stick figure, a robot, an animal, a heart, or a word. Does the ink appear to be adhering to the surface of your plate? You're on the right track now.
step two - After allowing your drawing to dry for two minutes, try erasing it with a dry finger. Is the drawing still in good condition? Yes, you're right.
step three - After the drawing has dried, move the plate carefully and safely while drizzling some water onto the drawing's edge.
You may remove your floating drawing. Try to lift your drawing from the water's surface with your fingertips. What happens to it after you take it out of the water? What do you think the substance in your hand is made of? Is it important what temperature the water is? Experiment with hot and cold water for the STEAM project as well.
Why is STEAM Education Important for Kids?
Innovations have become a part of human daily life at this point in the technological revolution. We occasionally hear about advancements in various industries. We rarely hear about educational advancements and innovations, especially in the early years of education. Because traditional education focuses on rote learning rather than instilling a positive mindset, this is gradually causing a decline in learning ability. STEM education was created by educators in response to this learning gap. STEM education aims to maintain children's curiosity and genius throughout their lives by causing a paradigm shift in early learning.
