To make balloon car, you'll need a few materials and follow these simple steps:

Materials:

A large, round balloon

A plastic straw

Four plastic bottle caps

A lightweight, small cardboard box

Tape

Scissors

Markers (optional for decoration)

Steps:

Decorate the cardboard box as desired. This will be the body of your balloon car.

Attach the four plastic bottle caps to the bottom of the box, one at each corner, using tape. These will serve as the wheels.

Cut the plastic straw in half and tape one piece to the back of the box, vertically. Ensure it's pointing away from the box.

Inflate the balloon but don't tie it. Stretch the open end of the balloon over the untaped end of the straw.

Place your balloon car on a smooth, flat surface and let go of the balloon. The air escaping from the balloon will propel the car forward.

How Does It work?

Using a dry-erase marker, you can make your drawings float. The solvent that dissolves the ink ingredients will evaporate as you draw on the spoon (or plate). The color pigment and polymer are then left on the spoon. However, because it contains an oily silicone polymer, it does not stick to the spoon. Because the polymer prevents the drawing from sticking to the spoon, when you dip it in water, the water can slip underneath it. Finally, the ink floats because it is lighter than water.
