Echoes of a world once gay.

Silent winds now sweep the land,

Nature's wrath, a firm demand.

Skies aflame, stars unseen,

What once was blue, now a smoky sheen.

In ruins old, memories fade,

“Careful,” she said, “staring too long might make me think you’re interested.”

They met her gaze, calm but deliberate.

“Then you’d be right.”
