Household Cleanliness - Am I Becoming a Hoarder?
I feel like a broken record here when all I talk about lately are my new prostheses; but they're seriously amazing. Over the past month, I have let dishes pile up, laundry grow into heaps, dust and cobwebs collect and just general disorganization take over my small, studio apartment. I love to clean and organize but right now it has taken a back burner to everything else. Tonight, my plan is to clean, clean, CLEAN. We could call it a spring cleaning but really it's just a normal cleaning that has taken too long for me to get to. I would do a before and after like most HGTV programming does but I am far too embarrassed. Who knows that could change. I like to see progress in the form of photography.
Does this happen to anyone else? Do you let your house end up in a state of disarray when going through something major? I have so many questions but I shouldn't ask them all now as I should start tackling some of these issues in my apartment. Let's face it, here's what is going to happen tonight:
-The dishes will all get done; except the ones that won't fit into my medium-sized dishwasher (who washes by hand?!)
- I'll decide I need new organization for my closet and rip everything out and then my hoard will have grown to the size of a real hoarders hoard. Why do I have so many clothes and shoes????
-Cats; I'll stop to talk to them for a bit about their days (I have two).
-I'll make a list for Target, go to Target, get everything on the list and more and then just come home and watch some Redbox movies.
-After I clean up my kitchen, I'll decide it's time to make a home-cooked meal as I haven't made one in quite a while. This could require another trip to a different store.
-I'll want to rearrange everything then just end up moving things where they first started anyway. In 300 sq. ft. you don't have a lot of options on where your sofa can go.
-I'll need a bubble bath after all this and then just give up.
As long as I get my dishes done and my bed made my house will look semi-presentable. My Great Great Aunt used to say a saying just like that and it's true. Having those two things done, really does improve the overall cleanliness. I think I'm going to set a little goal for myself that if I can get my place straightened up I'll do a little apartment showcase on my tumblr.
