Do you like crafts? Do you like buying craft supplies? Of course you do! Here's the real question: do you like craft exchanges?

If you do, then how does a stashbusting craft exchange sound?

The essentials: you sign up to make a craft to trade with someone else, focusing on using craft supplies you already own. This is about reminding ourselves of the cool things we've already purchased, rather than buying something new to make (though it's fine to purchase some materials to finish a project if you run out).

What kind of crafts? Ever so many! Knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross-stitch, sewing, quilting, watercolors, paper art, origami, painting -- I would recommend keeping the crafts small and easily shipped, but pretty much anything would be welcome! You will be matched with someone who makes a craft you'd enjoy receiving (when applying, people will list what they can make/what they would enjoy).

International trades will be welcome; people who are willing to ship internationally will be paired up.

Depending on interest, the sign-up form will go out on May 15, and then the official crafting period will be June 1 through August 31. All trades should be mailed out by September 1.

Mitered squares baby blanket from acryllic yarns I'm never going to wear myself now that I've been medically warned off artificial fibre. I started it in I think early 2021, and it was slight lockdown madness where I started knitting squares for a blanket on 2 mm needles. No idea what I was thinking there. Back then I thought it was a blanket for myself. No idea what I was thnking there either.

Now it's a slightly chaotic baby blanket for charity, and I'm ultimately very happy with how it turned out, even when, at the last moment, I managed to mess up the order in which I sewed the squares together. Yes, it's a mitered square blanket sewn together from individual squares. It's easier to travel with and do in small implements that way, even if the finishing was then a pain.

Playing yarn chicken on hard mode with each of them, here’s hoping I can eke one more out of this

=>took inventory of the Half Stash

=> need a project to keep the hands busy

=> decided it was time to use up the merino mini skeins from last advent

=> bought some yarn bundles on vinted to compliment (and also because I love stashbusting and using what others would throw away)
