...And Ted and Robyn as endgame is just ridiculous. She hasn't changed at all. They established that - she's back in her apartment, with her dogs, and Ted's back again - being way too in love with her, with the blue french horn. The only thing that has changed is that they're older. If it didn't work before, HOW is it going to be any different now?!?!? Robin hasn't changed at all. She's still going to be the person that eventually makes him miserable, even though so many years have passed. And the fact that Robin would've let her career come before her friendships, let alone the marriage with the man she clearly loves (I mean they've spent a whole season showing that the guy thats perfect for her is Barney! What was the point of all that to just suddenly have them get a divorce!) is just insane! I'm so angry right now that I can't even cry over this. This piece of shit television doesn't deserve my tears.
I'm so angry at the How I Met Your Mother Season Finale.
I feel like they just disregarded everything that has happened in the other seasons, all of that character development from the last 9 years was just thrown out the window. And I can sort of understand that they were trying to show that happy endings don't really exist like that, but its bullshit. This isn't some artsy fartsy tv show that the audience watches with plot twists and stuff, its a simple, heartfelt comedy show that is meant to make you laugh and smile a bit every week. We don't watch this show to feel sad! The fact that they tried to pull off this is just ridiculous, and it feels like they changed director for the last two episodes.
The ending also felt like a bad fanfiction. And what was the point of this whole season? Building up to a marriage that didn't last? What sort of message does that send? And the whole introduction of the mother was pointless. The show went from being "How I Met your mother" to "How I met your mother who then died and hooray now I can get with the chick that I did a while ago who it NEVER worked out with." Complete bullshit. I'm so unimpressed. Its not just a bad ending, Its complete and utter shit.
