Cliff Marleau Torment Nexus aka Viking Age Cliff Marleau refuses to accept his best friend Viking Age Ilya Rozanov's untimely death, so he seeks out Viking Age Witch Jackie Pike and begs her to bring Ilya back, which she cannot do - what she can do, however, is make him immortal and give him a Magic/Cursed Mirror (that she got from a Roman witch two centuries earlier bc Viking Age Jackie Pike is also immortal) which will tell him where Ilya will be reborn next (though not when) and so Viking Age Cliff Marleau becomes Immortal Cliff Marleau and then he spends 1500 years watching his best friend die bloody again and again and again and again and again and again and---

also there's a Mysterious Darkhaired Man who always appears and watches Ilya die but Immortal Cliff Marleau doesn't really know what that means so he's chill with ignoring it

also scott hunter is the reincarnation of cesare borgia bc that tickles my brain

this is gonna sound so dumb, homie, but I can't listen to anything with like.. identifiable words or I cannot write. I'll just start writing out the lyrics, my brain is too stupid to parse it out otherwise.

A lot of times, lately, I'll be writing with silence in the background, or with the timed "work together" function on LADS which incorporates just the sounds of working in a cafe or something

I have to agree that I think the writers ultimately relied more on Maggie and James' real relationship than the writing to develop Juliet and Shawn, and I do think it's the weakest link in the show by the end. I watched the show as it aired from early S2 and started out really enjoying them as a fun central ship, all the way up until the S3 finale. I still held out hope during S4, but then....the S4 finale happened. From then on, it just felt like a slightly out-of-tune piano someone still insisted on playing. By the time they had their brief break-up in S7, I was quietly rooting for them to stay broken up (shocking twist: they did not). And I do know that as the main girl and technically lead guy as the fake psychic, Juliet and Shawn were probably always going to get paired off together. But, the show did mostly maintain Shawn and Gus as equal co-leads, and I think it would have been totally valid for them to explore Juliet/Gus or some other totally different direction (my preference is obvious, but in theory, they could have gone a lot of different ways than the one they ultimately did).

[Sidenote: I'm pretty sure Maggie and James were together for the entire show run and broke up afterwards, but it's not like I know the exact date of their relationship end and the last date of filming, nor is that my business. It was pretty close in time, though; it's not like they broke up in S6 or S7.]

This is ultimately a minor critique I have of the show, which I enjoyed 90%+ of and of which I have the complete pineapple-themed box set of DVDs!

unsure of how to quantify "new" as ive been writing exactly one series for the past year and a half and im going to continue writing probably just that series for a long while, but i am excited to eventually write tuck/skwydd/cricket/circe in proper fics!
