that the System in Scum Villain has a bunch of features that Shen Yuan NEVER found out about because

1. He didn't ask 2. The System is a purposefully obtuse little shit

He could have been taking screenshots of White Lotus Binghe! He could have been streaming from his eyeballs straight to Shang Qinghua! There's even a pause button that would have really come in handy to give him time to think certain things through - but of course the System wouldn't tell him about it, because User 02 never asked.

A WORLD MAP THAT SHOWS HOSTILE CHARACTERS AS RED DOTS AND FRIENDLY ONES AS GREEN DOTS ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW, SYSTEM????

So this may be a little premature, since I can’t read simplified Chinese and I’ve only been looking at fan translation, but I am 90% certain the System is lying about nearly everything in the new extra.

I love the idea of Bingzu and want to believe he’s real… but I don’t think he is. I think the System invented him to tug at Shen Yuan’s heartstrings, because it KNOWS Shen Yuan couldn’t bear to let the last remnant of a Binghe’s soul be destroyed, and therefore it has guaranteed itself protection from Bingmei’s (justified) wrath against it for the harm it has done to Shen Yuan, to Xiang Fei, and yes—to Bingmei as well.

The evidence I present to the Jury is thus:

The system interaction begins in response to Shen Yuan thinking about talking with Binghe about it. The system’s opening message is it begging Shen Yuan not to dismantle it. This is punctuated with a crying emoji for maximum emotional manipulation.

Shen Yuan askes – if he helps the System, what does he get? The system has to come up with something it thinks Shen Yuan will value.

Shen Yuan says that all he has to do is speak to Binghe on behalf of the system – that communication can fail and he might not convince him. The system KNOWS it needs to come up with some airtight reason for Shen Yuan to not just follow through with his agreement, but to really WANT it to persist.

The original information the System presents to SY is a MOUNTAIN OF SCROLLS that he could never read in a human lifetime. I propose that it is stalling for time here while it gets its story straight.

Luo Bingzu’s world supposedly came to an end, so it’s not like they can visit it to collect evidence to verify the system’s story…

If Bingzu was unsatisfied with his life, but believed it could be changed, why end it at all? Putting spirits out there to save some alternate universe version of yourself doesn’t sound like it would really help you at all. Even if the system is telling the truth about everything else, I would say it’s definitely lying about Bingzu creating it on purpose for the purpose of “a better ending” for other Binghes. Primarily because the system never ONCE acts in a way that brings any Luo Binghe happiness! Not ONCE! But it sure does act to cause him pain on SEVERAL occasions!

The story the System gives for Shang Qinghua doesn’t make sense at face value either. What do you MEAN a normal mortal man just randomly sensed fragments of another world that had been long destroyed? And he was the ONLY guy who sensed them? In the whole MULTIVERSE? When people who have been cultivating sensory powers for many lifetimes exist out there? When Actual Seer Madam Meiyin exists in multiple worlds??? And so the System latched onto HIM? WHAT???? Lies. Shang Qinghua is PIDWs creator god, and the System doesn’t want him to know the power he has, because he might use it to avenge himself against the System!

The system brought up the trading bodies thing to keep Shen Yuan from believing it is a killer. I know it brought a lot of people peace to think that SJ willingly gave up his body, but think about it for ONE SECOND. Would this man, who has fought tooth and NAIL for what he has, and is FAMOUSLY distrusting… really trust this unknown entity for his second chance? NO! He’d rather claw his second chance from the world himself! He was trained by a demonic cultivator! He can snatch a new body on his own and disappear if he wants to, thank you very much!

It claims to have placed Shang Qinghua in the world to alter the plot to make Binghe’s life better… but DID IT THOUGH???? It gave him absolutely no motivation to do so – and in fact it gave him an incentive at times to NOT do so!

But it knows that blaming Airplane is something Shen Yuan will be on board with, so

The thing closest to truth in the System’s whole explanation, I think, is its selection of Shen Yuan as the second Transmigrator. I think it really did see Shen Yuan and go “Wow, what a weird little dedicated guy! He’s perfect for putting in Situations UwU”

So the System expects us to believe that the time in the plot and the character SY transmigrated into were random? That it had so much control over everything else, but not that? Why would that be the case? If the System knew its limits in that regard, wasn’t bringing in ANY Transmigrator a huge gamble? Wouldn’t it be likely they’d be transmigrated into a dying person too late into the story to change anything?

And of course the System then goes on to flatter SY for his “efficiency” lol. Really?

At the end of the explanation, SY pretty much asks the system: “So your task is over? Then why don’t you get out of me.”

And the system goes “Well you’re pretty much my energy farm sooooooo” (Which I have a whole OTHER theory about why systems may be powered by Heavenly Demons, but we won’t get into that in this post…) Suffice to say, I think the System wants to reside in SQQ specifically because of his frequent access to Heavenly Demon jizz, which is probably a huge power boost for the System it couldn’t get otherwise.

Binghe tries to come back to SQQ disguising himself as an ordinary (non-heavenly) demon?

LBH might be thinking that he's going to test what Shizun said about demons not being intolerable to the heavens - to see if he will really tolerate having a regular demon around, or if what he said was all talk. Maybe he's thinking it'll be less restrictive if he'll still be able to use his demonic energy around Shizun, too.

So he approaches SQQ at some point as a peasant goat demon who needs help - and of COURSE SQQ is gonna help him! He's bleating so pitifully! And maybe having demonic connections will help Shen Yuan in his next life/body after the merging of the realms. Liu Qingge objects, but he's overruled XD

Yeah. You. *motions with finger* a little closer...

Something small - harmless if it failed, but not too overwhelming if it succeeded. So he wrote, "Shang Qinghua gets six solid hours of sleep tonight."

But of course, it couldn't have been that easy. That would be crazy, right?! And like usual, he's up late doing paperwork until he's staring into space, and has maybe an incense and a half of passing out before sunrise. So the test was a failure.

But it doesn't keep him from trying again, when he's feeling like he could really use a little helping hand from the universe.

"The staff of the Ice Palace collectively decide that Shang Qinghua is too valuable to die. They stop trying to kill him and prevent assassination attempts from outsiders."

"Shang Qinghua boosts An Ding Peak's reputation within the sect. The peak and its lord become well respected."

Nothing ever seems to happen, but it's kind of therapeutic to write these little wishes out anyway.

where Bingge is getting ready to put Shen Qingqiu on trial, and he approaches Ning Yingying to ask if she'll testify against her Shizun.

She tells him she'll support his claims that Shen Qingqiu abused him.

"But what about what he did to you? Will you testify about that?" Binghe asks.

"What he did to me? He didn't do anything." NYY isn't sure what he means.

Binghe tells her that just because she might have found Shen Qingqiu physically attractive doesn't mean that his sexual advances on her were OK.

She asks what sexual advances he means. Binghe describes Shen Qingqiu doing totally normal, innocuous things in a way that is full of vivid descriptions of things like "SQQs debaucherously roaming fingers pulling suggestively at the strings of the qin while he looked at her" and "Shizun running his tongue over his plump, moist bottom lip when we entered the room that one time." all recounted with increasing frantic vividness each time Ning Yingying denies them as sexual abuse scenarios.

"A-Luo..." Ning Yingying tells him, folding her arms over her chest, "I never saw lust in Shizun's actions. I never was physically attracted to him either, though It sounds to me as if maybe YOU are."

(Luo Binghe storms off in anger, venting his frustration on the perfectly good demon realm ecosystem until he comes to terms with the fact that he might be attracted to men even though men are horrible (Where have we heard this before? :P)
