Enviroment considerations.
We have a few restrictions with our settings. It has to be a desk and the theme is night time. This means a lot of the light will be blue and I’ll have to consider how this may effect the clarity of my characters and enviroment.
I’ve decided to add fairy lights in the back to add white light to the darker, duller and cooler lights to help set the mood and create some easy backlighting.
PANTS: I also want to add a pair of lacy pants to the background, I’ll probably have to pin these or find some small metal object that magnatise. I’m not sure if i want thses just laying somewhere or if I’ll have them drapped....I think if they’re drapped over another item it’ll look like they were thrown uncaringly.
CONDOM WRAPPER: I think if I stic this down with blue tack or plastercine that should be enough to hold it place.
PLASTIC CUP: I think i will secure this down with a pin or magnet since it’ll be so light.
BOOK: This will be under the plastic cup so the cup also looks like it’s just been put down whereever. I’d like to pick a book that also gives some background information on what the people at the party might be like.
PENCIL POT: This should help stage the scene, to give it some walls to containe the audiances gaze. I might add more then one depending on how wide the camera frame is.
SHOT GLASS: I want this in front of the pencil pot. I might have to figure out how to hold the glass when it tips. Maybe a rig, clamp, palastercine?
KEYS AND WALLET: I want this off too the side as background information to the actuall people outside of the frame.
PENCILS: I think I’d like to play around with both the rigs and the use of hands so that it seems the hands are in control but I’ll probably need a rig for frames where the hands aren’t holding the pencils. For frames where I just want the audiance to focuse on the pencils I might hold them up with plastercine or stick a pin the rubber end and then use a magnet.
PENCIL SHARPERNER: I think I’ll have to stick this down with bluetack or plasterscine when it stationary. Possibly also a rig depending on wether I decide to incoparate two hands or not.
HANDS: I havent decided wether to just use a single person to play both characters or if I should have two people play each character.....I think if it was just a single person this will free up room better in the studio spaces and will also depict that the film from that persons point of view.
