i noticed that in the s4 script it says that the Byler intimate moment was shattered, in the mlvn interrupted moment script it just says that Argyle dropped the pizza on the table, no moment was shattered, so i don't think Mike wanted to say "ily" in that moment, i think he wanted to apologize and imply he wanted to break up with El, but then Will said "you're the heart" and Mike started thinking El commissioned the painting and that those were El's feelings and he felt like he owed it to her to say those things because he thought it would've saved her, plus Eddie said forced conformity was what was killing the kids and Max died after Mike's monologue (just like how Barb died while Nancy was conforming to society with Steve in s1), Mike always knows when something is wrong with Will and even noticed when he was quieter than usual but with El at rink o mania he couldn't even tell she was scared and that Angela was a bully and he only got up when Will said "oh no", Mike's brain focuses more on Will, i don't understand why Mike couldn't tell Will that he "loved" El if he actually did because Jancy can say it to other people that they love each in s4 other but Mike kept saying "that thing" "i didn't know what to say", also the monologue makes no sense cuz El said he loved him in s3
