Shaun the sheepâs origins and the time Wallace became active and aware
If you ever watched a close shave. You probably know that this is where Shaun first appeared and where his spin off show started. His show is even cannon to Wallace and gromitâs universe during a chase scene in vengeance most fowl after Wallace fell into the farmâs wagon and cause it to roll down a hill much to the farmerâs frustration. In a close chase, Shaun looks like a cute and young sheep who doesnât know what heâs doing sometimes, especially since his baahs are a bit younger. In the Shaun the sheep show, he appears to be a bit older and has a bit of some adventurous experience, as well as an older baah, almost like he grew into a bit of a teen. I had in interesting idea as to what happened and how Shaun become the sheep we know and love. This may also include as to why bitzer and the farmer werenât in a close shave, and how bitzer became the watch dog in mossy bottoms. This is first and probably the only time (unless you count the curse of the were rabbit, project zoo, vengeance most fowl, or even the muzzled episode from Wallace and gromitâs grand adventures) where Wallace is not only fully active and aware of something evil going on, but also the only time where he becomes useful and helps Gromit, with Wallace helping out during the second half of a close shave (many of the other films and sometimes game shows Wallace being naive and unaware of the situations until near the end).
It all started in mossy bottom farm where Shaun was born and raised (which is also way before little Timmy and his mom and even Shirley ever came to mossy bottoms). At that time the farmer was somewhat young and bitzer wasnât a watchdog during the time. The reason being is because mossy bottoms is a peaceful and somewhat boring place. Thereâs really nothing important, valuable, or exciting at mossy bottom other than the farm and watching the animals. Because of that, not a lot of people come to mossy bottoms other than other farmers or normal people, not even burglars, wealthy nobles, or even evil villains.
One day the farmer decided to take a break from the farm (probably for a week or longer) and went elsewhere, mostly on vacation or visiting a family member, leaving the (and even the other animals) to care for themselves. The farmer didnât really need anyone else to actually watch over or care for his animals since they actually could care for themselves (though theyâre not as active or adventurous until later on) and also because the farmer was still young at the time and isnât fully experienced yet in farming or even caring for animals. Bitzer also came along since the farmer also let him tag along (and because he likes the dog). Shaun, still young and curious decides to secretly sneak out of mossy bottom to see what is outside of the farm. The young Shaun eventually wanders into another farm (which luckily doesnât have his girlfriend in it) and decided to stay there for the time. Unfortunately, little did Shaun know, some big was about to change his (and even mossy bottomâs flock) forever. Elsewhere Preston the cyber dog (made by fred ramsbottom) was secretly rustling sheepâs with Wendoline to not only give her wool for her yarn store, but also to turn sheep into dog food. Wendolene was a bit reluctant because while it was fine to rustle for just the wool, Wendolene dislike the fact that Preston would turn the sheepâs they rustled into dog food. One night, Preston ends up visiting the farm Shaun was in (not mossy bottoms). Shaun, along with the other sheepâs (not his flock) all boarded onto the truck where they would be sent to have their wool taken and then become dog food. After Preston stopped at a red light near Wallace and gromitâs house, Shaun manageâs to breakout and flee the truck, since he also broke a piece of wood that gave him enough space to get out of the truck. This allows Shaun to escape and avoid getting turned into dog meat. Shaun then went into Wallace and gromitâs house through the dog door (where he will be safe for the time being), where the duo recently formed a window cleaning business so that they would make money avoid having to rent out rooms to lodgers like feathers (after the incident in the wrong trousers). Preston noticed Shaun escaping into the duoâs house and decided to come back eventually, before leaving with the rest of the sheep flock to possibly take their wool and turn them into dog food. While Shaun was inside the house, the young lamb started to eat everything in sight, inckuding a wire to the porridge cannon, which malfunction and was later used in the motorcycle for cleaning the clock (and attacking Preston). Shaun even manages to secretly become Wallaceâs foot rest (while eating the actual foot rest) without Wallace even noticing him. After Wallace and Gromit returns home from cleaning the wool store windows (and Wallace hanging out with Wendolene), the duo finally meets up with the lamb who was eating everything and causing a mess, even making himself dirty in the process.
Wallace and Gromit then decided to bring Shaun to the basement to clean him with their new invention, the knit o magic. Unknown to the three, Preston returns to Wallaceâs house to find Shaun, before heading into the basement to spy on them. Unfortunately Shaun was being washed, the machine ends up malfunctioning, causing it to be set to light shave and ends up shaving Shaunâs wool and turning it into a small sweater, leaving him with no wool. Wallace and Gromit decided to give him the sweater to wear, since he has no wool left. Preston, who saw what happened, took the blue prints of the knit o matic, with plans to secretly make his own version (which he can use for Wendolene before turning the sheeps into dog food). While staying with Wallace and Gromit, Shaun also ends up eating a piece of cheese from Wallace, while he was working on the porridge cannon.
The next day, Wallace, Gromit, and Shaun went to clean the clock with their porridge gun to fire the suds. Elsewhere Preston manages to reach mossy bottom where he rustled Shaunâs flock before returning to the wool store, with plans to frame Gromit. While Wallace hangs out with Wendolene once again, Shaun once again wondered off as Gromit begins to investigate what is going on. Gromit also got a photo taken with Shaun when he peeked through a wall and a face cutout portrait of a butcher. Eventually Preston manages to place Shaun with the rest of his flock in the truck, with the intention of luring Gromit into a trap. After freeing shaun and his flock (with the sheeps taking Wallace away from the store), Preston manages to trap Gromit and drive away with him, framing Gromit for the crimes of sheep rustling and being sent to jail, while Preston continues sheep rustling. Back at Wallaceâs house, Shaun and his flock are living with Wallace for the time being. Unfortunately for Wallace he became saddened that Gromit was arrested (and framed) for a crime he never committed, even a saddened Wendolene felt sorry for what happened to Gromit. Wallace mentions that Gromit âreally let them downâ, but the inventor only says that since he mostly feels bad for Gromit and didnât want him to be jailed. Wallace knows that Gromit is innocent (and not guilty) and is mostly framed for the sheep rustling, especially since Gromit never had any intentions of sheep rustling to anyone like Wallace. Even the sheep flock shown to feel bad for Gromit since he was the one who rescued them. This is the first time, Wallace becomes more active and less naive as he decides to help break Gromit out of prison and rescue him. He also started to become more aware of the sheep rustling as he is now helping Gromit, whoâs investigating the sheep rustling. This is the first time Shaun and his flock would gain experience and the first time they went on an adventure (despite Shaun being the first to go on an adventure), as they also helped break Gromit from jail, giving them experience later on in Shaunâs own tv show. After Wallace, Shaun, and his flock rescued Gromit, they offered to let Wallace and Gromit hide out in mossy bottom farm where they could stay for the time being and avoid getting arrested (and luckily the farmer wasnât there to see what happened). Unfortunately Preston returns to mossy bottom with Wendolene and rustled Shaunâs flock. Preston then approaches Shaun but not before Wendolene stopped him, having had enough of Prestonâs evil nature. In retaliation he had Wendolene and Shaun thrown into the truth, with intentions of turning them and the flock into dog meet. Wallace and gromit, realizing what is going on, pursues Preston to save Wendolene and the flock.
During the chase, Wallace released the sheep flock who all boarded onto the motorcycle, and forming an inverted triangle, with shaun driving it. Unfortunately Preston manages to trap them all back into the truck and despite Gromit attack Preston, Preston manages to escape into his factory where he would shave Shaunâs flock, Wallace, and Wendolene before turning them into dog food. Luckily, Shaun manages to escape before being being dumped into a tub with everyone else to be washed. As everyone tried not to be vacuumed up to be dried and shaved, Shaun manages to turn on some lights to help Gromit locate Prestonâs factory where he shoots porridge at the evil cyber dog. This causes the cyber dog to start losing his balance, giving Shaun the opportunity to redirect the machineâs tube to Preston as heâs sucked into the knit o matic where Gromit gives him a close shave. However, preston malfunctions snd reveals his robotic appearance, since his future is all gone. Preston tries to grab Shaun but was saved by Gromit before turning his attention to the others. However, preston ends up getting a shirt placed onto to him, by his machine, causing him to get blinded before falling onto a conveyor belt with Gromit for his mince o matic. This also leads to both Gromit and the cyber dog to try and escape the mincing machine as Preston tries to grab Gromit and throw him in. Wallace tries to help, but ended up causing him, Wendolene, and even Shaunâs flock to fall onto the conveyor belt, forcing everyone to try and escape the mincing machine, though they couldâve just jump off to the side (which could risk them getting hurt in the process). However, in one last action for âa close shaveâ, Shaun manages to swing with an anvil, directly at Preston, jamming him into the machine and saving Wallace, Gromit, Wendolene, and his flock forming being dog food (while Prestonâs parts were being canned). Preston is then rebuilt to become good again (despite being on wheels), ending Prestonâs dog food business and sheep rustling once in for all with Shaunâs flock return to mossy bottom. However, Shaun stayed behind, where he ate Wallaceâs cheese snd continues to stay with the duo for the time being. Wallace and Gromit sometimes used him from time to time like the one time when the sheep was used as a probe when the shopper 13 broke down with the giant cheese (despite Shaun eating it).
After sometime, Shaunâs wool manages to grow back, allowing the sheep to get rid of the small sweater, and he reunites with his flock back at mossy bottom. When the farmer and Blitzer returned, they learned about the sheep rustling (and what happened to his sheep flock) and how Preston was rustling sheep from everyone, even mossy bottom, making them worried. Preston offers to become a watch dog for the sheeps so that they wonât get into danger ever again. The farmer agrees, thus making Blitzer the watch to protect the sheep flock from ever getting stolen again. However, the Shaun and the flock also gain some experience from the events of âa close shaveâ, this allows them to do things like play sports, make things (like machines), or even go on adventures. Since then, Shaun and his flock had their own fair share of adventures and mischief, which happens in the Shaun the sheep tv series.
itâs also possible that the farmer and bitzer were there in mossy bottoms, but they werenât aware of what was happening and didnât realize what was happening until later on. However, thatâs up to you to decide what the farmer and bitzer were doing during âa close shaveâ.
This is quite an interesting that I thought about and how Wallace and Gromit ties into the Shaun the sheep series (besides vengeance most fowl). A close shave is another favorite Wallace and Gromit film of mine (despite enjoying vengeance most fowl and the wrong trousers) and itâs were we finally Shaun, who is depicted to be a young lamb. I also like Shaun in this film since he is shown to cause some mischief snd even shown to have help people like Wallace and Gromit when they need help the most. Anyways how do you think a close shave ties into the Shaun the sheep series. Let me know in the comments on wha though think.
