With less than two weeks left in August Stark Spangled Winter Hawk Month is just over a month away.

That still gives all of us plenty of time to cobble together our fanworks. 

That idea that has been sitting in your head? Write it down. Doesn’t matter if it’s just an idea or a story, write those sentences and post them in October. 

Is that idea more of an image than a story? You can write it down as well. Talk about what you want to create, even if you never end up drawing it. Or even just get a sketch down. 

Is it a mood board, but you can’t quite decide on the aesthetic/ images you want to use? Or maybe you have an picture, but you can’t quite get it to work the way you want it to. Talk about it/explain your process. You can even do it via video.

This month is less about completion and perfection and more about sharing and bonding over a shared love of this rare ship.

With so many days in October some of you may feel overwhelemed for Stark Spangled Winter Hawk month. As stated in the FAQ, you are not required to create something every single day; however, if you’re anything like the mod of this blog, you might have a hard time resisting this challenge. So here are some tips for spreading the SSWH love over October.

For Writers:

Multi chapter fics are your friend. If there is only one story you want to write featuring our four love birds, then write it. If the story is a few thousand words you can break it up into chapters. You can then post the chapters once a week or however you want throughout the month. 

Share headcanons. Maybe you don’t have a full-fledge story in mind, but you have this cute/angsty image in your head involving SSWH. Share it. 

Give sneak peeks. Maybe your story isn’t quite finished. Post a sneak peek of what you do have. It will entice readers and get everyone excited for your finished piece. 

Artists: 

Show your process. You can do this via video or screencaps. Have fun with it.

Make it a game. Draw your bodies without any details to give away who they are and have people guess who is who in the image, or create a poll and have people decide. 

Slowly reveal what you have created. Post just an image of Clint’s face, or maybe two hands holding each other. Do this a few times and then reveal the full image. 

Play with symbols. Drawing people is hard. You don’t have to. Tony, Steve, Bucky, and Clint all of symbols/images associated with them. Feel free to combine those symbols together to make a work of art. 

Fan Videos:

Share clips: You don’t have to show your whole video all at once. Feel free to give us bits and pieces throughout the month. 

Make a Poll: If you like to make music videos have people vote on which song to use in your video. If you’re someone who likes to make parody videos have people vote on which lines/quotes to use. 

Length isn’t everything: If it’s easier for you take make thirty second videos then make thirty second videos. Don’t feel olbigated to make every video three or more minutes long. 

Moodboards:

Talk about it: Talk about what is inspiring you. Is it a quote? A trope? A picture? Do that leading up to posting your moodboard. You can go really deep with it, or you can just say: “Something about this picture/trope/quote makes me think about StarkSpangledWinterHawk.” 

Share the rejects: Share the pictures that you really liked but for one reason or another you ended up not including in your final product. Make it a collage.
