sae catches a glance at your phone, and is confused by a wall of alarms
while walking past you, sae caught a glimpse at your phone. open on your screen, was what he swore was at least a dozen alarms set. upon another look, he saw that they were all set to go off within a few minutes from each other.
without taking notice of his confusion, you picked back up your phone and closed it.
“hi.” you said happily once you noticed sae.
“hi, why do you have so many alarms?” he asked blankly.
you raised an eyebrow quizzically. “what do you mean ‘so many’?”
“your phone. you have too many alarms set.”
you laughed and opened the app. “i do?” the wall of alarms made perfect sense to you, so sae’s confusion bewildered you.
sae decided to drop it. “probably.” with that, his phone began ringing, and he had to leave to answer what you read as his manager.
from the kitchen, sae heard an alarm go off from what he assumed was your phone. he was about to leave for practice, but decided to stay for a bit longer to wait for you. you turned the alarm off, and he expected you down soon.
to his confusion though, you didn’t come down. soon, another alarm went off. this one barely lasted a few beats before being silenced.
sae’s impatience was beginning to overrule his confusion, so he was about to pull out his phone and text you before yet another alarm sounded.
he groaned and shut off his phone, walking towards the door. he had to leave soon, and would see you later that day so there wasn’t much of a loss. being led on by your phone alarms probably wasn’t worth being late.
annoyingly enough, finally, that alarm was canceled and from in front of the door, sae heard you finally get out of bed.
a message popped up lighting up his phone screen.
> are you at practice?
sae sighed, and began texting back.
< i’m downstairs. about to leave.
> wait for me!?
< i’m about to leave.
you sleepily walked downstairs, pleased with yourself for waking yourself up early enough to meet him, admittedly for a minute.
“i’ll be home at the same time as usual.”
you nodded and replied. “bye,” you said with a wave.
“bye.” sae said before shutting the door and leaving for his car.
sae entered the house, clicking the door locked behind him.
“hi!” you exclaimed from the couch in front of the door, happy to have noticed his entrance.
“hi.” he responded, before his eyes fell on your phone.
“huh?” you questioned, wondering why he was staring at your phone which such unnecessary conviction.
“why do you have so many alarms set?” he began. “and don’t lie and say it’s much that much. you have at least a dozen.”
you raised an eyebrow in confusion. “a dozen alarms? yeah.”
sae groaned.
“i don’t get it, too many?”
“why do you need so many, the purpose?”
finally, it clicked in your mind. “to wake me up.” upon realizing that you were repeating yourself, you clarified. “otherwise, i’ll just go back to sleep.”
“why would it require so much effort?”
you shrugged and laughed. “it just does?”
sae paused for before responding. “you shouldn’t have so many.”
“uh, then i won’t wake up on time.”
“no. i’ll wake you up.”
you smiled. “really? and if you’re busy?”
“i’m not busy if i’m not at practice. you should be awake before then.” he explained.
“then we’ll have our mornings together!” you concluded happily.

your notifications for football games had gone from a necessity, to a minor inconvenience. at first, they allowed you to watch many of rin’s games. it was a way to get closer, and worked well enough.
when he left though, the alerts began to sting in a way that was ever so dull.
still, eventually, you were the fortunate receiver of a welcome surprise—rin would be playing near your house.
disappointing as it was that he hadn’t told you, you were already used to it. you’d begun to speak less and less as time quickly passed, so it served no surprise. still, you tried to cling to the hope that you’d grow closer yet again.
not long after receiving the game notice, you decided to make a sign, a poster of sorts. something to cheer his name, and remind him of yours.
after acquiring poster paper, you pulled open a marker and began the meticulous job of outlining his given name.
resisting the urge to add heats, stars, anything to take up space, you elected to simply adorn the still-white paper with words of wished luck and victory.
though, you quickly fell to the urges and the once crisp white paper was turned into a rainbow you weren’t exactly proud of, but were happy to look at.
the day of his game, you happily grabbed your poster and made your way into the stadium. your seat was close enough to the field that you hoped your probably-just-friend would be able to spare you a glance.
the minutes after his game proved a bigger surprise than you could have possibly considered. not only did rin exclusively seek you out—but he was mad. at you.
you blinked back your shock. “what?”
rin’s eyes widened and he scowled. “i asked why the hell you came.” his voice was far too cold for comfort.
“i’ve come to so many of your games rin.” you choked out.
“so? i’m asking you why.” he spat.
you were dejected. there was no sense or reason in his anger. it was so nonsensical that there was truly no point in clapping back.
“dammit rin.” you spoke quietly before turning around to leave, eyes as blank as rin’s were cold.
on the way back to your home, you throw away the sign. it’s just a coincidence that you chose the garbage bin outside of the home of itoshi rin.
hours later, rin texts you. ‘i’m sorry.’ he says. you’d have been shocked to find how much he meant it.
he hated his performance in the game. sure, he had scored, but it wasn’t the kind of goal that he wanted to score, the conditions were all wrong and it wasn’t right.
though, he despised his stupid anger at you even more. you had attended his game—which he’d never even told you about—with a sign. one that was obviously homemade no less, so clearly made by you and you alone unlike the so many printed signs he’d seen even that game alone.
he was, horribly stupid.
‘i’m sorry.’ you read from your phone. scoffing, you shut off the phone to sit on your bed, once again staring at the ceiling as you’d been doing for who knows how long.
whether you blamed yourself or rin, whether he had the right to be mad or you did, your mind was too thick to determine. what you knew though, was that you missed the rin you used to know so well.
soon, rin had a vague thought that he needed to stop his lonely pity party, and gathered up his garbage to throw away.
he absolutely did not expect to see that damned sign you made inside of his own garbage bin.
at the sight, the outside of his eyes filled with an unexpected liquid prompting him to instinctively reach up to scratch the pointless sensation.
in a haze, he threw in his trash and carefully picked up the largely undamaged sign. with it held carefully in his undeserving hands, he took it home.
rin took it into his room, where he propped it up on his dresser. from his position at his desk, he could just see it fall from the corner of his eye.
he walked back to once again prop it up, and stood as it wavered, and then fell once again.
realizing it would not stand on his own, with a glance at your large writing proclaiming his own name, he walked over to the side of his bed and propped up your colorful sign with the soft plushie of a character he did not recognize, that you had once given to him.
it truly made sense that the few sources of color in his room came from you.
allowing himself to dramatically fall back onto his bed, he gazed at his boring ceiling and waited for the minutes to tick by and for the dread to dissipate from his tired body.
you were wondering for possibly the thousandth time whether or not to respond to rin, when, yet again, you received another call.
letting it ring out, you finally decided to turn off your phone.
with your phone off, you missed the text he instantly regretted sending, but was entirely set on carrying out; ‘i’m coming over.’
summary: you were happily attending one of your boyfriends games, when the kiss-cam fell on the wrong people. your boyfriend fixes that.
warnings: nagi seishiro x gn reader, sfw, established nagi seishiro x reader, fluff, crack??, reader hinted at going to college, blue lock canon—no, 0.6k wc
for months, you had done everything you could to attend your boyfriends games. you knew you could never be there for all of them but you promised him it’d be at least half.
so far, you had skipped plans with friends, and missed multiple classes (that you were somehow still passing).
your boyfriend, was not complaining. nagi didn’t like knowing that you were blowing things off with other people, but it made his face heat up knowing how much you cared about him.
you disliked watching his games on your t.v, when you could have watched them in person.
and so, you were at his games often. there were no issues with this anyway, because at his games you were never bored. you decided your heart would always flutter every time he looked over at you while mid-game.
this game though, something changed. that stadium in particular had a feature you’d seen many times before—the feared, and loved, kiss-cam.
however, that time it was used at the very beginning, minutes after the seats had filled up.
the players were all warming up on their sides of the field, when the kiss-cam came out. largely used to it, they all continued practicing as was normal.
for you though, this experience was certainly not normal. you were sat in the vip section, used mostly for fans willing to burn through way too much money. next to you, was a person you’d never seen in your life.
unfortunately, it landed on you.
nagi was still warming up, his entire team in near uniform, when he heard the game’s announcer give an annoying ‘ooh’ as school children might.
he ignored it and continued playing.
until he announced that the kiss came had landed in the vip section. that got nagi’s attention.
his attention was not earned, but caught unwavering by the sight of you, and the stranger who was supposed to kiss you.
he doubted many outside of his friends knew you were dating, and he didn’t want the media to tear you apart for existing. not being able to directly interfere, he had no plan whatsoever.
still, he knew he likely had seconds to spare before your lips met the stranger’s.
without any other ideas, he began dribbling the ball as normal, running towards the goal. not thinking of the follow through, he purposely guided his foot on top of the ball, thus launching his body forward and into the ground.
the announcer began making jokes as his horrible plan miraculously worked, and the cameras all turned to him.
embarrassingly enough, it was obvious how stupid his fall was. even worse, he knew he had to lie there until the kiss-cam’s allotted time was up.
though, maybe it wasn’t that bad. you didn’t have to kiss the stranger, and he was getting a break.
the crowd was obviously confused and concerned. and, entertained as nagi lay face-down on the freshly-cut grass.
soon, he quickly stood up and was called to the sidelines by his frustrated coach. the rest of his team was practicing as normal, stifling their own laughter so as not to be given a lecture.
still, it was worth it to see the look on your face.
unfortunately, nagi falling made headlines over the game itself. he was painfully annoyed as you, of course, laughed at him.
you sadly didn’t realize how intentional his fall was, and he didn’t feel the need to tell you. you’d make fun of him for being jealous, which he believed would be unfair. sadly, you were making fun of him anyway.
it was fine though, because you didn’t kiss anyone else. nagi knew full well you would not only have hated it, but would feel horrible as well.
and that made being temporarily forced out of the starting line-up worth it.
you run into a blackberry stand while driving, and he pulls over
the previous night, sae had gotten a call stating that he was requested to meet with the head of a soccer team he couldn’t care less about. he fully wanted to decline, but his manager had already spoken to you.
while you weren’t exactly excited, you agreed to convince sae so long as you were allowed to go as well for the duration of the trip. luckily, it was a trip taken by car rather than by flight.
the drive had already dragged on for long enough, you’d decided. without asking, it was clear that sae agreed as well. he was driving about as fast as he could without the risk of being pulled over, though one glance at his face told you that the decent speed limit was pushing it.
“we should pull over.” you suggested thoughtfully.
sae wanted too as well, but saw no use in waiting along the side of the road and prolonging the drive even more.
“why?” he decided to ask.
“you look like you’re going to scream sae.” you replied.
he defended himself. “no i don’t.”
you retorted. “look at your knuckles. you’re gripping the wheel so hard they’re white.”
“so?” he questioned. though, his hold on the wheel loosened and he had to admit you were right.
you sighed and unpaused the song sae had turned off minutes before, and let the sound fill the car.
not long after, out of the corner of your eye, you saw a small stand along the side of the road. spray painted onto the stand’s body proclaimed the blue-colored word, ‘blackberries!’.
before you could even notify sae, though, he was already slowing down the car to pull over a bit away from the stand.
once parked, he slowly turned to you. “you like blackberries, right?”
you nodded. “yeah, let’s go.” excitedly, you hopped out of the car and walked next to sae for the stand.
the owner of the stand—an older woman—beamed as you and your boyfriend walked the distance.
without words, she pulled out an empty container.
you regarded the container’s size thoughtfully and asked for 3.
“why do we need 3?” sae asked, confused. did you like blackberries that much? he could have bought you some at any time if you’d asked.
“for the meeting. the u20, and blue lock teams are both going to be there.” you explained.
he sighed. “so?”
your response was a smile, before you turned back to watch the woman fill the containers.
once she finished, sae pulled out his wallet and placed a hand on your arm when you tried to do the same. you rolled your eyes, but did as he unfortunately wanted.
he pulled out the paper money and set it on the board used as a table.
“thank you!” you said, sae nodding next to you as you both began to walk off, smiling.
from behind you, the woman picked up the money and didn’t even have to count it for her eyes to widen. “sir?” she called out, prompting you and sae to turn around. “this is far too much!”
you looked at sae, who looked off-put at her reaction. “keep it.”
she shook her head. “please allow me to count out the change, at least!”
sae sighed and a smile grew on your face. without moving from his spot, he answered again. “no. keep it.”
you moved your hand to intertwine with his, a grin on your face to match the bored expression on his.
the woman again beamed. “well, thank you. you are a beautiful couple.”
he unconsciously squeezed your hand, but the softening of his eyes did not go unnoticed by either of you.
he gets a bruise during a game an expects a kiss as compensation
you'd been busy with homework, and so you hadn't been able to go to, or even watch your boyfriends game. you'd tried to listen, but every time reo's name was called, you'd lose focus. needless to say, for the sake of your project, you were forced to turn it off.
you had made an impressive amount of progress before you heard the door click open, and the sounds of your boyfriend walking in. you smiled and began for where you knew he'd be removing his cleats.
upon reaching him, you were surprised to see a mark on his forehead. it was an impressive shade of red and looked to be a bit swollen.
a grin expanded across his face as he saw you. "hi," he then pointed at his forehead. "soccer ball."
you laughed at the mark, considering it was practically square in between his eyebrows. "hey, that's definitely going to bruise, you know?" your voice was quiet, but teasing enough that it was obvious to him.
he scoffed while pulling down his hair, letting its tips reach his shoulders once again.
“you’ll kiss it better though?” he thoughtfully suggested. “right?”
“is this how you ask for a kiss?” you raised an eyebrow and your voice remained just slightly teasing. “a forehead kiss, even worse.” you had a lot of talk in you for someone who wanted to kiss him very badly indeed. this teasing came from a need to not be alone in your suffering.
joining you in on your apparent mission against him and his forehead, reo didn’t want to be left behind. “you don’t want to kiss your wonderful boyfriend’s painfully throbbing battle wound?” if he couldn’t over exaggerate, he figured there would be no point.
not entirely fooled, you only half believed him. “battle wound? didn’t it come from a soccer ball, of all places?” you spoke, quoting his own words though made less dramatic.
“the soccer field is a battlefield in it of itself.” he retorted intelligently.
neither of you were quite sure how you ended up speaking this way, but the annoying pain in reo’s forehead had not yet subsided and instead seemed to hurt even more, and now he just wanted his wholly expected welcome back kiss. he walked closer to you in order to wrap his arms around you, but in anticipation, you turned your head to the side.
you were even less sure how you ended up so many times rejecting him a kiss, but you were partially curious as to the end result. this was even more overwhelmed though, by your enjoyment of your usual routine with him of a welcome home kiss.
reo didn’t at all want this game to continue, and by the way he felt relief at the way you were staring at his only slightly embarrassing bruise, he was right in thinking you didn’t either.
“kiss me, please?” reo asked, a smirk forming on his face.
you weren’t exactly pleased at his confidence, but did as requested and pressed your lips against his, still purposefully ignoring his forehead so that he’d be forced to ask yet again.
you unfortunately noticed though that his cheeks were reddened from either smiling, or your kiss, and upon the realization you took the loss and kissed his forehead as well.
“you’re lucky you’re cute, ya’ know” you murmured under your breath, quiet enough that reo was just barely able to catch your soft words
this time, his already red-tinted smirk was just a bit more flustered, and that much more pleasing to look at. “you are too though.”
eventually, curious as to how he ended up with the bruise, you watched his game. you were used to him arriving home with bruises on his arms and legs, sometimes even on his face. still, they were usually in the middle of his forehead rather than in between his purple eyebrows.
surprise, surprise, it originated from him jumping up to block a goal. it seemed he miscalculated however, because the look on his face as the roughly kicked ball made its contact was one that did not fit your standard of cute.
you laughed at his obviously shocked reaction before turning your face to his own, right where the ball hit.
the annoyed look on his face at your laughter became that of one quickly placated by the kiss you so kindly gave. anyone’s standard of cute.

you slipped on your shoes and stood up. next to you, nagi did the same as he brushed off his sides and fully straightened.
reo waited at the door, his face concerned. “are you sure you don’t want to be driven home? i could call someone right now.” he suggested thoughtfully.
you shook your head. “it’s fine, i don’t want to trouble you.” you chose not to include nagi in your statement as you knew full well he would have rather been driven home than walk. you were already pleasantly surprised that he wasn’t insisting on driving anyways.
the three of you had gone to reo’s mansion for the afternoon, and eventually the time had come to go home.
reo looked to nagi. “you’re sure?”
nagi shrugged without raising his head from his game, and without raising his voice in objection. once he completed the level, he looked up and walked towards you. “see you.” he waved to reo.
you nodded and turned around once again. “bye!”
reo grinned before waving back and calling out his own goodbye.
nagi thought he’d lasted an impressive amount of time. it had been at least 20 minutes before he began complaining to you.
“we should’ve taken the car.” he groaned. his face was a mix of neutral and pouting.
you sighed. “you could’ve taken it yourself.” it would have been a lie if you said you wished he had, but you could have gone without the complaints. yet, you certainly enjoyed his company and had a feeling he didn’t mind yours much either.
“no.” he paused and scratched the back of his neck. “you would’ve gotten lost.” he continued. “reo would kill me.”
rolling your eyes, you softly chuckled at his slightly offensive explanation. you clicked your tongue. “i wouldn’t have gotten lost. but if you had taken the car, you would’ve fallen asleep.”
nagi shrugged. “so?”
“ba-ya would have to carry you out.”
he paused before realizing why that was wrong. “oh.”
you laughed.
“still,” he continued. “if we had both taken it, it’d be a lot easier.”
you shook your head and responded with a brisk ‘no.”
your banter continued back and forth for minutes longer, before nagi came to a conclusion.
“you should carry me.”
you were taken aback. “what?”
“you owe me. so you should carry me.” he spoke nonchalantly.
you snickered. “god no sei,” you looked at him and wasn’t at all shocked that he was genuine. “i love you, but you’re a giant.”
he was 6’3. 190 centimeters. your height didn’t matter in the slightest as you were faced with the entertaining, but painful thought of trying to carry him for even a second.
you had to stop walking to laugh.
“what?” nagi asked, apparently not understanding. some genius he was, clearly unable to comprehend how gravity worked in the slightest.
through short giggles, you caught up to him easily as he’d stopped not far ahead of you.
“there’s no way i could carry you.” you paused.
“it’s a pain to walk.” his face was pouting once again, feeling called out for his height even if he didn’t mind it in the slightest.
you groaned and observed how his body was hunched over.
quickly he noticed this and leaned over your shoulder and managed to place a kiss on your check. you grinned and walked faster.
as he moved to keep up, you took his hand in yours and continued moving forward.
“good enough.”

“that’d be great sae.” you spoke into your phone, pleased after finally agreeing on a place for your date. you were stuck at work while sae was just about to get ready for practice from your home.
“i can do it tomorrow or next week.” he said after consulting his practice and game schedule.
“tomorrow then.” you decided.
“okay. when?”
“uh.” you thought for a few seconds. “maybe 18:00?”
wait—you had a meeting at 18:00. you glanced at the clock next to your desk: 17:57.
“that work-“
“sorry! meeting!” you yelled into your phone before quickly ending the call and leaving for the large meeting hall where you were expected to be in a couple minutes.
sae was left surprised, phone still in hand. “damn.” he said to no one in particular, before rolling his eyes to no one again, and leaving to change into his practice gear.
“i’m sorry, i don’t think i can make it.” you said apologetically to the man in front of you.
he shrugged. even if he was disappointed, he didn’t feel like making it a big deal. “why?”
your voice caught in your throat, not wanting him to know the extent of the stress you were facing at work.
your group had been assigned a large assignment meant to be observed by a large person at your company, and somehow almost all of them had managed to escape its responsibilities.
only you and 2 others were able to work on it, and each passing day brought it further from completion.
“they’re giving us more work, and i’m drowning.” you gave a guilty smile. “sorry, maybe in a few weeks?” you managed to forget the extent of how observant your boyfriend is.
a few weeks was a long time of this, sae thought. one date was one thing but that long was way too much time for you to be under the stress you obviously thought you were good at hiding.
“be home early tonight, okay.”
“i’ll try.”
“whatever, early.
sae opened his computer as soon as you left the room. after a crude text to his manager, he was able to get in contact with your company.
it took even more crude language, but sae was quickly able to learn of the large project placed upon you.
he admittedly had no way to help you with the project itself, but wanted to contribute in at least one way.
regretfully walking over to the kitchen you’d banned him from, he had one idea.
immediately upon walking through the door of your home, your were surprised to be hit with the smell of cooking vegetables. sae of all people was cooking?
you knew full well he enjoyed cooking about as much as talent he had when it came to it. so for him to be doing so, you didn’t know whether to feel honored or worried.
hanging up up your jacket and slipping off your shoes, you walked into the kitchen to see sae standing above the stovetop, large oven mitts worn over his hands. you scoffed, though endeared.
“sae? you’re cooking?” you said upon walking closer.
“yeah.” he breathed a silent sigh of relief that you were home early.
you tilted your head in confusion. “why? you never cook. i’m surprised you even know how.”
“well.” he said slowly. “i don’t exactly know how.”
you laughed and took a peek at the stovetop. he was cooking an assortment of vegetables, and behind you was your rice maker.
“go get changed. i’ll be done soon.” he said, still focused on not burning the food in front of him.
“yep. be right back.” you spoke before happily doing as requested, and changing from your work clothes into something more comfortable.
soon, you walked back to see the kitchen empty, and relatively uncluttered.
you quickly deducted he had set the table, and walked over to where he turned out to be.
it wasn’t much, but you knew the minimal portions of rice, cooked vegetables, and soup probably took him longer then he’d care to admit—you were right. he was aware of his lacking skills and began early for fear of mistakes.
you took a seat and gave a thanks for the food. “what’s this all for?” you asked. “is it a special occasion or something?”
“no.”
“then what? is it because i had to cancel on our date?”
he shook his head. “no reason.”
that was a lie. if you couldn’t go out on a date then this was the best way of decreasing your workload while still spending time together. sae was proud to feel that he did live up to his ‘genius’ title.
you meanwhile, had begun to feel even worse. sae had cooked for you, and you planned to run to your room and work again as soon as you finished.
“sorry i’ve been so flaky, you know how much work they’ve been giving us lately.” you said, lowering your head. “i know you’re busy.”
his voice was bored. “it’s not like i don’t do the same thing. i’ve ditched you too many times to be mad when you do the same.” he shrugged. “and you’re busy too.”
you smiled. “thanks, sae.”
he nodded. “i talked to your boss, by the way. the project will be done by tuesday.”
you walk in on him being cute, and are happy to tease him for it (lovingly)
rin had no idea what he was doing. he hardly did anything new, so doing something so unusual was a novelty to him.
at its core though, it was most definitely you. looking out at the table in front of him, he deduced it was completely you. you were certainly the only one who could make him do something so stupid.
when you finally happened to walk in the room, the panic in his eyes was unmistakable even if calm settled on his face just seconds after.
you were confused, not only as to why he was sitting at a table in front of a mound of brightly colored cardboard paper, but also as to why he looked so panicked.
“rin?” you questioned.
“uh-“ he scrambled to cover the evidence, fully ready to deny everything in front of him.
upon further inspection, though, you quickly saw the cut up cardboard paper and realized much of it was cut into small rainbows of hearts.
“oh.” you spoke after it clicked in your mind. you gently laughed, delighted at the concept, before beginning to search for confirmation. “those are for me?”
rin swallowed thickly, his reply so hasty he didn’t stop to think about it. “no.” he answered, except it was more of a question than an answer.
he cursed himself—he’d always considered himself to be a much better liar. maybe it was the unfamiliar situation—never had he been caught cutting out bright paper hearts by their theoretical recipient.
your eyebrows raised, and you were wholly unable to believe even half of the statement. still, you found his horrible denial to be all the more endearing.
“it’s not really…” his voice trailed off as he tried to begin, unsuccessfully. “it's actually supposed to be…”
you laughed and walked forward to kiss your boyfriend on the corner of the lips. “yeah?” you teased. “who’re they for rin?”
he scoffed, though clearly much more calmed compared to his previously wholeheartedly embarrassed state.
“for you.” he paused, not at all past the point of hesitation “ ‘m not sure what exactly they were meant for, though.”
you grinned and picked up a sky-blue heart. rin did the same with a pale pink one, looking at it as if it would distract you from his flushed face.
you were of course undistracted, as you again leaned forward to kiss his lips, which he resignedly returned in full.
after 3 days of being gone at an away game, rin was finally able to return to your home. while not exactly tired, he was certainly sick of being forcefully engaged in lukewarm conversation, and being apart from you.
once you opened the door, you held your arms open so he was able to walk in and reciprocate—he’d showered at his hotel before leaving.
when he tried to kiss you though, you turned your head to the side and took a step back.
“huh?” he questioned, wondering if and what he did to make you mad. it was probably something he said on a call or before leaving, but he wasn’t sure of what.
as if it answered his questions though, you held up a small purple heart he recognized as cutting out a few days before.
he’d thought a lot about that interaction while gone, and came to the conclusion that there was something temporarily wrong with him. unbeknownst to him you’d done the same and were happy to conclude along with chigiri, that your boyfriend was a simp.
his face contorted upon recognizing the heart, and realizing that he likely wouldn’t in fact not be getting the kiss.
hours later, though, revenge was at last served when you forgot all about teasing him and moved to kiss him; finally allowing him to hold up the green heart he’d been carrying for the past few hours in anticipation.
and, impressively soon, both of you forgot—or rather, gave up on—the hearts.
though, that didn’t mean that the red heart tucked inside of your phone case ever had to be removed.
a/n: this was almost 400 words shorter, but i hope i was able to make him that much dumber
