Sage Willowmere
Known throughout Willow Valley as both elder and anchor, Sage Willowmere is the quiet wisdom of the herd given form. A large, powerfully built centaur with a silver-gray roan coat, salt-and-pepper mane and tail, and a weathered beard, Sage carries the presence of someone who has lived many seasons and learned from every one.
In his youth, Sage traveled between herds, learning the ways of healing, birth, and loss from mares and midwives across the plains. Over time, he became known not for speed or strength — though he has both but for his steadiness. When pain came, Sage stayed. When fear rose, Sage grounded it.
Eventually, Sage chose Willow Valley as his final home, drawn by Derrick Willowheart’s vision of refuge and chosen family. There, Sage took on the role of eldest mare and midwife, guiding new mates through pregnancy and standing watch through countless births. His own experiences carrying life deepened his compassion and patience, shaping him into a trusted guardian of beginnings.
Now, with a large, round pregnant belly of his own and decades of wisdom behind him, Sage stands ready once more especially for Arlo’s coming birth. To the herd, he is not just a midwife, but a living promise that no one brings new life into the world alone.
