While I can't say I'm fond of the way the Avengers handled Carol's drinking during the "Live Kree or Die" arc, it's worth noting that they didn't just throw her to the wolves at the first sign of a problem. Carol was deeply, deeply in denial, and it's next to impossible to make a superpowered person who can fly stay put and listen, especially when she's as stubborn as our Colonel Danvers. And, of course, there's really no way to help a person until they admit they have a problem. You can lead a horse to water...

I am so goddamn happy that the pretty, rich, elegant girl who oh yeah is also a speed racer is:

1) not penalised by the narrative for being feminine

2) fond of both make up and kicking ass

3) not evil

I have been hoping that they would not take the easy way out - that the girl who's going out with the same guy Korra likes would be revealed to be, gasp! A femme fatale! Using her good looks to seduce and destroy a bender boy and get closer to the Avatar!

Nope! Instead it is that complicated and very real situation where the girl who the guy you really like is dating is actually beautiful and genuinely nice and awesome in all ways.
