"  I  thought  Druig  broke  that,"  Maui  asked  with  an  annoyed  grumble  as Kingo  sat  across  from  him  with  his  camera-toting  valet.

"  I  do  not  think  that  is  how  the  myths  work,  brother."

THE HEAT OF THE SURROUNDING LIGHTS BEAT DOWN ON THE SMILING ETERNALS   with the intensity of   a thousand suns   and vidya wonders if the cameras can catch the warm flush of her skin.   the red velvet stretched out under her feet for what looked like miles,  other celebrities scattered along the length of the walkway.   with kingo’s palm perfectly placed on the small of her back,   she played the role of an actress as much as he did.   turning her head,  she smiled pretty for the flashing cameras and ducked her head demurely to catch his deliberately scandalous whispers as cued.   they had   perfected their act   by now,  down to the lingering glances that were just long enough to leave questions among the paparazzi.   the two fed the public just enough to speculate with no solid answers.   vidya had already been sent inquiring messages from their own team and skirted around a direct answer more than once.   when working with an infinite amount of time and   its boundless possibilities,  they had to keep their day to day as entertaining as humanly feasible. 

     he  notice  a  beat  too  late,    the  movement  at  his  back...     the  threat  getting  closer,    the  quick  motion  that  left  rendered  him  helpless  to  the  trap  that  was  laid  in  front  of  him.    there  was  nothing  to  do,    no  way  he  could  avoid  it.    no  way  he  could  make  it.    not  even  his  powers  could  help  him  out  this  and  ikaris  could  feel  the  frustration  grow  inside  him.    as  he  fell  on  the  trap  and  he  watched,    helplessly  as  he  slipped  and  spinned.     Throwing  the  controller  on  the  couch  besides  him,    he  crossed  his  arms  above  his  chest,    watching  as  Kingo  drove  ahead,    crossing  the  finishing  line  before  his  own  car  had  finished  spinning  around.    “ this  is  the  third  time  you  win  Kingo,    can  we  play  something  other  than... ”    leaning  forward,    he  reads  the  game’s  name  that  keeps  on  slipping,    on  the  cover  laying  on  the  floor.    “ mario  kart...   this  is  getting  ridiculous.”
