Yeah I think people don’t talk much about it because whatever happened (if it did happen) happened years ago and we don’t have much information to go on anyways. Hell, we wouldn’t know anything about it if it wasn’t for that playlist being public lol

I do find it interesting *erhm* that the playlist was created in mid-2016 and SR still had projects in the UK at the time, but with a few exceptions most of his projects from 2017 onward were Australian. I think he only moved back to Aus in 2018 after GFTNC wrapped, but he definitely started to make the moves to go back before that. You can see that by his filmography.

Also, the movie he did with PN was filmed in late 2017. They met on set and started dating shortly after that. Around the time he was wrapping GFTNC, moving back to Aus and shooting LoG.

So I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if whatever happened with JO was one of the reasons he decided to go back. Not the only reason or even the only personal reason (I think he probably had both professional and personal reasons to go back tbh), but more of a last straw kind of thing.

Oh and I think a lot of people don’t know about this but shortly after that SR playlist he created another playlist called “moving on”. Both playlists have similar content aka a bunch of heartbreak songs in them and the timing is sus af (also the title?? moving on? lmao). They are even disposed one after the other in his profile. We can’t be sure of it by any means, but my theory is that they are connected.

And btw one of the songs in that moving on playlist is When We Were Young by Adele. Here’s the 2nd verse of that song:

I was so scared to face my fears / Nobody told me that you'd be here / And I swear you'd moved overseas / That's what you said when you left me

Honestly, knowing all this it seems more compelling to me that whatever was going on at that time may have had more to do with JO? I know a lot of people say something happened to SR in 2016. The playlist was made in 2016. Then SR tries to wrap up his obligations in the UK and moves back to AUS. I do agree with the last straw theory- a lot of people underestimate how easy it is to feel homesick, but when things are going fine it is easier to settle into a new place. If things had been rocky though, he’d probably feel the pull to return home more strongly.

i haven't figured out what causes it because that type of worldbuilding makes my head ache but yep! there's something weird with the colours with anything that they wear or touch (within reason) will change their assigned colour!

that's why if you look at any of the art i have for them, their outfits are in the same colour family. of course i have some leniency for rules of what colours they can wear or have. for example Red's colours can bleed into oranges and pinks, but can't get too near purple. the twins can kinda mix each other's colours as long as it's mostly their own colour.

most plates and dishes and things are exempt for the most part, so is paper, but items they come into contact with a lot (blankets, pillows, Red's capybara plush, etc) will end up getting changed.

clothes just happen on contact (i do have a comic kinda explaining this but haven't released it yet as it has been sacrificed to the draft monster) while they are wearing them usually. the colours end up buying their clothes already in their "assigned" colour to avoid difficulty.

as for furniture, there's a reason it's gray.

Not saying that his romantic dalliances had nothing to do with him leaving but it’s not always about who he dated/ broke up with. It’s clear he craved variety of roles and didn’t like classism in UK.

Honestly this is so fascinating and I would love to hear him talk more about this. Classism is insidious (and I honestly don’t think people acknowledge how it impacts almost every group of people) and I would love to know more about his thoughts.

i was just worried people were unhappy with the complete saturation of how many Red-centric fics i had on my list! 20/27 fluffvember fics are Red themed ant the two other full fics are Red centric.

i'm really glad that people love Red as much as i do. rest assured i love all of the colours dearly, but he holds a special place in my heart <3
