Headcanon that while Ryuu looking flustered and misunderstanding women's advances is all well and cute, but Gaku understands what they're implying and while he rescues Ryuu he lets them know

Slings an arm across Ryuu's shoulders "He's setting some off in mine tonight, sorry."
Like the Dakaretai Otoko No. 1's rationale to recieving unwanted advances is to turn it right back around, this guy swings both ways and he's catching hands left and right, why wouldn't he do the same for Ryuu

Gaku materializing like he was summoned by Ryuu's internal đľâđŤ "He'll be pulling mine tonight, sorry!"

"I really love the OT3 with Zen/Obi/Shirayuki, something with the three of them would be amazing! I'd rather not get anything with abo au or explicit sex"
I hope this is alright >_< This is my first foray back into writing after a 5 year hiatus. Iâll probably post this on AO3 when I have time later.Â
Have a lovely valentines!!
Untitled - a short omake?
The crew have some introspective thoughts and musings about the nature of their lives as they hear about the plot of Yuzuriâs latest obsession.
------------
There was a strong feeling of foreboding in the air. While Zen never liked trusting in such, he unwittingly fell into the same bad habit that his old manners teachers tried and failed to whip him out of all throughout his younger years: paying more attention to the weather than the words of the person heâs engaged in conversation with.
It certainly was the kind of day that couldn't decide whether to be bright or dreary. The snow flurries already stopped and zen's throat was no longer aching. Yet he was warned to stay aware of his health. Mainly since it would not be good for the image of their beautiful city if royalty got sick there all the time.
He pushed a bereft yawn down his lungs; no matter how much the gray seemed to begin looming over those blue skies, it would not fit if he were to yawn in the middle of shirayuki's cheerful and (altogether too) bubbly friend's dialogue. Something about romance novels? Everyone seems to be paying attention though. And who is Zen but a master at staying alert.
"The writing is superb! It delivered way more than I expected," she barely stopped herself from sighing, "my only objection was that it ended too soon."
Shirayuki, patiently listening beside him, was serene and hardly disheveled as usual. Despite her busy schedule and tendency to overwork, she always looked immaculate, whatever the situation. Meanwhile, her friend paused to glance at him. Was that a smirk he saw, just now? No. Yuzuri faced Shirayuki once more, though with a question obviously directed towards him. He braced himself.
"Though, of course, with your highness being around, this type of excitement must be humdrum nonsense, right?"
He breathed a sigh of relief. And then held his breath right after- causing a cough to sneak up on his already much-abused throat. He put a fist before his mouth and coughed once more for good measure.
"What? No! Not at all. What are the main points?"
This seemed to encourage the young girl. She gave a wider grin before resuming with her discussion.
"Oooooh, it had all the best elements!! Right, Suzu? There's the forbidden romance between the prince and the lowborn lady, him rescuing her from pirates and unruly bandits-"
What?
That one landed  way too close to home for him to keep being comfortable. His foot fidgeted. He glared at it to stay. Put. The many times Shirayuki got into trouble because of their situation still made him feel guilty to this day. But he would not ask her to stop, nor would he presume to imagine that he would ever be able to order her to do so.
He glanced at Shirayuki. She was frowning, but only a smidge.
-------
Shirayuki didn't really pay attention to what was being said. That said, she had her head in the clouds the whole time (considering that they were gray, growing, and halfway covering the sky).
That is, until she felt a tickle in her back. It wasn't too uncomfortable -- only enough to make her want to scratch at it. Fine, it was reeeeally uncomfortable. What material did they make herbalist clothes from nowadays, poison ivy?!
She blinked. She was sure she HAD heard the last portion of yuruzi's monologue, but who could really blame her for being a tad bit (note: a LOT) Â distracted?
"The prince carrying the lady bridal-style-"
A memory of a warm hand gently wrapping over her waist
"-stolen kisses-"
The sun on her face. That warm spring day. The feeling of her heart pounding, as she felt the pain and simultaneous joy of a first kiss from a very attractive young gentleman.
"-dangerous enemies, as skilled as knights appointed by the crown!"
Come to think of it, they haven't really experienced any danger for those two whole years they've spent in lyrias, haven't they? It was like time stopped and it became normal, to not think about the castle. Shirayuki never had any trouble with petty distractions when there was work to be done. The time here went by so rapidly, since she always had the next project to work on. And once Zen returned, it was like time started moving once more.
And WHY on earth was that prickly feeling in her neck starting to burn? Shirayuki gave in and scratched at her neck. It wasn't the right spot, but it was close enough for the time being.
-----
Suzu was giving him that look again.
While he appreciated time spent with their friends in Lyrias, their teasing looks have always been his constant adversary and longtime companion. He should be used to them by now. He's never reacted before, and them goading him won't make him do so now.
The bubbly girl was being blocked from his view by Shirayuki's slender back. He didn't want to stare, really. She was right there. He couldn't help it. Honest.
"-she even got kidnapped! By the worst type of bandits imaginable!"
He remembered those days. Nonstop action, enough that he could barely breathe. Is he softer now, milder now, tamer now, in comparison? Has this place officially defanged him?
"The lady's true love, saving her in the nick of time!"
He'd never dreamed of that role before. But if he did, would it actually make any difference?
And of course, the prince and the lady's knight, both madly in love with her!"
Suzu's stare was penetrating him now. Not to mention, Zen switched from looking at Shirayuki to looking at him, too.
He sneezed. Everyone jumped.
"It's getting a bit cold. How about we head back in for some warm tea?"
Everybody seemed only too eager to provide assent.
And thus, their whole group started trudging back to the warmth of the kitchen, with the sound of Yuzuri's chatter providing a comfortable ambience.
-----
Lyrias was practically a fortress. And thus, it was not too easy for anyone to just jump in and take any random person from the inside. So it was just Shirayuki's luck that she is the unfortunate person caught in the crossfire, yet again.
Some man (she had no idea who, he just blindfolded her and wrapped her up) knocked her out cold while she was checking out books in the extensive library. How and when they got inside, she did not know.
She was still blindfolded. Her hands were tied - but carefully. Whoever did this must've known her status, and didn't want to get in trouble for knocking her around too much. She was famous around here for being a friend of the crown, after all.
Now, what options do I have?
While her body might have just gotten used to the lack of movement that came with indoor work, she will not let it be a reason for her to lose that same tenacity that drove her to run all the way to another country just for the sake of avoiding the selfish wishes of a once famously spoiled man.
Shirayuki checked all her senses. Her sight was out, obviously. She wriggled her hands - still tight. She smelled the air - the heavy musk of being in a wooden room. But- and  her tongue darted out, tasting the air: why is it sweet?
Footsteps
And- they're getting closer.
This didn't bode well for her. She had to think of a solution, and fast.
Shirayuki knew the walls tasted of moss. This moss was lightly useful for providing a light tonic when collected, dried and placed in boiling water. They collected those flowers in the spring.
Fresh, though, and in wintertime, means the tiny leaves will release a certain powder when shaken.
The door opened, and Shirayuki kicked the wall. She held her breath and hoped to god that the man had large nostrils like most other hooligans here in this city.
--------------
Shirayuki had been in her lonesome all morning for some reason.
Normally Obi would be beside her. Yet today of all days Zen required him to be present for sparring practice. Man-to-man bonding, as they called it (though kiki would raise a finely manicured brow at this insinuation)
When he finally escaped for just a tad bit and ran through his usual shortcut (rooftops, what else?) to get to his mistress's haven, he was whooping for joy. The plan for the rest of the day? To provide any help for her in the best way he could.
Yet- what was this feeling of dread? He tried to sense for her presence in the library. His breathing evened out, and he stretched out his hearing to pinpoint the exact place she was supposed to be. This was a relic from days spent listening for the cadence of her heart amidst the roar of a snowstorm upon castle walls. He would recognize her even from the next room.
And yet, none of those abilities could help him out if she wasn't present in the room.
He sniffed the air. There was the light permeating smell of old books and cement. And something else - the residual scent of herbs, from days when Shirayuki brought samples to cross-check with books.
There was a bad feeling rising now, like a crested wave almost reaching the breaking point. He rushed to her oither hangout spots - finding none, he sought out the usual suspects for her attention. None of them have seen even a single strand of her famously bright red hair.
And thus, he had to report to Zen
------
"Shirayuki is missing."
Zen wanted to facepalm. Wasn't Yuzuri talking about this exact situation mere moments ago?
the vanishing vixen | magnus x alec | chapter 1/2 | 9k | by @squidpro-quo
claryâs acting oddly and simon needs help. magnus bane, the man with the adorably aloof cat, is his best hope. a peek behind the curtain of magnus baneâs work leads to more than just a cup of coffee and a lot more mystery.Â
It was a month from Christmas and one night as Magnus rested his head on his Shadowhunterâs broad shoulder, he could sense that Alec was deep in thought about something.
âAlright, Alexander, out with it. I can practically hear the cogs turning in your head. What is it?â Magnus asked him, raising himself up on one elbow.
âIâve been thinking, babe, and being itâs our first Christmas together, Iâd sort of like to have everyone around for Christmas dinner.â Alec told him. Magnusâ face brightened.
âOh, my love, I think thatâs a wonderful idea. We could get a tree, put up some decorations, invite Catarina and Madzie, I could conjure a big feastâŚâŚâŚâ Magnus started to say but Alec put a fingertip to his perfect lips to silence him.
âYes, to all that, but, well, I kind of want to do the cooking myself. I havenât had a proper Christmas dinner with all the trimmings for years. Iâm usually at the Institute and its Jace and I sitting in the cafeteria eating a turkey roll. But this year I want to do it properly.â He explained.
Magnusâ smile broadened and he looked up at his handsome boyfriend with such tenderness that Alec almost blushed. He reached out one slender hand and ran it over his cheek before leaning in to place a soft kiss on his lips.
âDarling, I think thatâs a wonderful idea. How about I be in charge of the decorating and you do the cooking? Deal?â He said. Alecâs face lit up and he bent forward and kissed him, still smiling.
âDeal. I cant wait this is going to be so great.â Alec said, as they settled back down and held each other close as they drifted off into sleep.
Over the next two weeks, Alec combed the internet for recipes and even managed to organise invitations for Jace and Clary, Izzy and Raphael, Miah and Simon and Luke. Â Max was now living at the Institute for his training and loved getting his own personal invite. Even Maryse and Robert seemed pleased to get one. Catarina and Madzie replied almost straight away that they wouldnât miss it for the world. Â
It was no time at all till the big day arrived. Alec even relented, after much encouragement from Magnus, to take the day off and leave the Institute in Jaceâs capable hands for the day. Â Alec wasnât happy about it, but he gave in anyway.
The day started off slowly, also not Alecâs idea. He woke up beside Magnus and saw his beaming face inches from his own.
âMerry Christmas, my love.â He said softly, and leaned in to place a soft kiss on Alecâs lips. It wasnât long before the kisses started to heat up and Alec pulled back, tyring to ignore what those golden catâs eyes of Magnusâ did to him.
âBabe, we have to get going. We have a house full of people coming later today.â He reminded him.
âOh, Iâm sure we have plenty of time for everything, Alexander. Besides, itâs law that you have to kiss me.â Alec said, making a pretend hurt face. He knew his boyfriend only too well. Alec could never resist his pouty face.
âBabe, I donât think there are any laws about kissing at Christmas.â Alec gave him a lop-sided grin.
âOh yes there is, look up.â
Ale frowned a little and turned his head to look above him. Suspended in the air as a few stems of a green leafed plant, a red ribbon tied them together. Alec had to laugh. Magnus would try anything to get what he wanted.
âMistletoe? Really, Magnus? Youâll stop at nothing.â Alec said shaking his head, but it ended up being another half an hour before he managed to convince Magnus that they really had to get up.
Alec started heading for the bathroom which sparked a whole new debate about the need for Magnus to join him. It ended with Alec leaving Magnus standing in the bathroom door way calling him a Grinch.
After a quick breakfast and a few make up kisses, Alec went to the kitchen to begin the cooking. Magnus stayed in the living room and began moving furniture around and replacing it with a large table and chairs and then with a snap of his fingers and a few flourishing movements, a large Christmas tree appeared to one side of the fireplace, each and every branch covered in decorations and lights.
With a few more waves, Magnus hung more decorations around the room and also strategically placed a few bunches of mistletoe. He was standing back admiring his handiwork when a series of angry sounding noises came from the kitchen. He turned and went in and made it to the door way to see his boyfriend wrestling with a large turkey while trying to turn down the heat on the saucepans that were bubbling over on the stove. Magnus had to stifle a giggle, he had never seen his Shadow hunter more adorable.
âIs everything alright, Alexander?â He asked when clearly it wasnât. Â Alec turned around and Magnus could see smudges of flour on his face and black really wasnât a great colour to be cooking in.
âYeah fine. Iâve got this, babe. Howâs the decorating going?â Alec asked, continuing to stuff the turkey with a lumpy looking mixture that Magnus was rather worried about what it actually contained.
âYes, its all done, just have to set the table. Are you sure you donât want any help, my love?â he asked again, looking worriedly at the mess in the kitchen.
âNo, no, its fine. Go set the table while I finish up here.â Alec reassured him as he stopped a glob of stuffing from escaping from the cavity of the turkey.
Magnus gave him a smile and then turned back to the living room. Seeing the disorganised mess in there, he wondered just how much cooking Alec had ever actually done. The temptation to step in and help him was almost overwhelming but he knew Alec was determined to do it on his own.
It was another two hours before Alec emerged from the kitchen, looking like he had been it a fierce food fight with someone. Magnus grinned up at him did his best not to laugh.
âAll done. Geez, why does it take twice as long to clean up as it does to do the cooking? Iâm going to change, babe then we can sit down together before everyone gets here.â Â Alec said, giving Magnus a quick kiss before heading for the bedroom.
Magnus waited until he was out of sight before he got up and went into the kitchen to check on things.
Well, he thought, he had done a great job at cleaning up, at least. He took the lid off the nearest pot on the stove and saw a very lumpy looking gravy that looked and acted like brown lava. Oh boy, well, maybe it would taste better then it looked. The other pots contained vegetables, and which didnât look very appetizing either. Magnus winced as he peeked in the oven. The large bird was roasting well, too well. At this rate, theyâd be eating charcoaled turkey by the time the other got there. He poked his head around the corner into the living room and then turned down the temperature on the oven. The rest of the meal was going to need some magical intervention but at least he might be able to save the turkey.
Magnus couldnât help smiling as we went back out to the living room to quickly take his seat before Alec returned. He loved the tall Shadowhunter more than anything, but it seemed even though he had put in a solid effort, cooking didnât seem to be a family skill.
Everyone arrived on time, baring gifts and bright smiles. Even Maryse and Robert seemed happy to be there. Magnus had dimmed the lights and the loft was bathed in a soft golden glow from the many well-placed candles and Christmas lights. The table looked wonderful, set with white plates edged with gold and Magnus had even conjured gold coloured cutlery. Sparkling crystal glasses caught the light and it looked magical.
âYour house looks very pretty Magnus.â Madzie told him when he picked the little girl up and hugged her.
âThank you, Madzie. Did Santa Claus visit you last night?â He asked her. A wide smile brightened the childâs face.
âYes, and look he gave me a new doll.â She said, proudly holding out the toy that she had tucked under one arm.
âWell thatâs wonderful, Iâm so glad. Are you ready for Alecâs delicious special dinner?â
âYes, Iâm starving.â She said, and clutched at her middle dramatically. Magnus couldnât help but laugh.
Alec had gone into the kitchen to start preparing the dinner while Magnus had ensured everyone had a drink. He went into the kitchen to find Alec staring helplessly at the various serving dishes of food. Oh dear, heâd been afraid of this.
âMagnus, Iâve ruined dinner. Look at it, we canât eat this, itâs a disaster. Â I donât know what made me think I could do this in the first place.â Alec said, his deep voice was full of sadness and anger at himself and Magnus felt so sorry for him.
He walked over to where his boyfriend was standing and took him in his arms and leaned up and kissed his softly.
âAlexander, itâs alright. I can fix this, but it doesnât matter. The point is you tried and thatâs what counts. Christmas is about getting together with family and friends, it doesnât matter what was eaten, itâs the company thatâs important. Now, letâs get this food looking and tasting as good as Iâm sure it was supposed to look like.â
Magnus gave him one final kiss and then with a click of his fingers and a wave of his hand, the serving dishes were filled with food that looked like it belonged in a banquet hall of a palace.
Alec gave Magnus a smile and bent his head and kissed him before they picked up the dishes and headed out to the table.
âThank you, babe. You saved the day. I love you.â He said, and Magnusâ face lit up from his words.
When they took the dishes out, everyone oohed and aahhed at the feast that was placed before them.
âWow, this looks great. You sure know your way around the kitchen, Magnus.â Izzy said.
Alec was about to say something about his failed attempt at cooking when Magnus cut him off with a look.
âIâm afraid I canât take credit for all the hard work, Isabelle. Your brother was in charge of the cooking and I think heâs done a fabulous job.â Magnus said, smiling at Alec.
Alec was about to disagree and saw the barely perceptible shake of Magnusâ head and gave him a shy smile.
âWell done, big brother, I canât wait to taste it.â Izzy said.
They all tucked into the food and in no time, there was much happy laughter and conversation. Everyone had a great time and Magus grabbed Alecâs hand and pulled him close.
âMerry Christmas, Alexander. Hereâs to our first Christmas and many more to come.â He said softly, and leaned in and kissed him gently.
âMerry Christmas to you too, Magnus. And next year, lets get the whole thing catered.â Alec said, smiling.
âI have a better idea. Why donât I give you some lessons? And maybe next year, we can do it together?â Â Alec laughed and nodded his head before kissing him once more.

âThere's a fairytale with the famous line "Ăşgy szeretlek mint ember a sĂłt" which roughly translates to "I love you like people love salt" and I really liked that one as a kid because it was a rather creative way of expressing your affection.â
What is your inspiration(s) for your work?
âMost of my fanfiction is vignettes that are based off of a small detail like a tassel on a pair of pants or a moment where something could have gone wrong. It's my favorite thing to pull meaning out of the tiniest thing in a show or movie because it gives me something to play with.â
What is your most âfamousâ work?
âI wrote this for Shadowhunters. I wanted to write a scene where a pair of openly gay characters finally met, because it was a kind of crime that they haven't yet in the show, and how their two worlds connected! â
Cobalt is one of our writers for this zine! Thank you for your continued interest!
Summary:Â Magnus and Alec are on the run from the Clave, dodging death and other disasters on their race across the galaxy to the Downworlds. Otherwise, the tale of an assassin and a smuggler saving the universe together.
