This Spring Ham and Asparagus Lemon Cream Pasta is a delightful combination of tender asparagus, savory ham, and creamy lemon sauce. It's a perfect dish to welcome the flavors of spring!
Ingredients: 8 oz. pasta. 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces. 4 slices ham, diced. 2 tbsp butter. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 cup heavy cream. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Zest of 1 lemon. Salt and pepper to taste. Fresh parsley for garnish.
Instructions: Follow the directions on the package to cook the pasta. Save 1/2 cup of the pasta water before you drain it. Melt the butter in a big pan over medium-low heat. Mix in the garlic and cook until it smells good. Put asparagus and diced ham in the pan. Make sure the ham is hot and the asparagus is soft. Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and lemon zest, and mix well. For three to five minutes, or until the sauce gets thicker, cook. Add pepper and salt to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add the pasta water that you saved. Toss the cooked pasta in the pan with the sauce until it is well covered. Serve hot with fresh parsley on top. Have fun!
