Lycoris Ichor, named after a genus of flowers and the blood of gods, also commonly called Lychor, is a God's Knight serving alongside Commander Figarland Shamrock.

They were not born a Celestial Dragon, instead born on a no-name island in the New World. They became an orphan after a horrible disease swept through the poorer regions, and they were spared due to the adults' desperation to protect the next generation.

Lychor has an odd obsession with flowers. This is what got them into the God's Knight training program in the first place, actually. They noticed that one of the blooms on a fruit tree was failing to progress the way it should and began to keep an eye on it.

They tried to inform the adults, but nobody wanted to listen to the freakish brat who always ran away from the orphanage to sleep in the woods. Nobody until Gunko, that is. A God's Knight patrol was in the region due a suspicion that a Devil Fruit they were after may reappear nearby.

Gunko overheard Lychor arguing with some adults about the odd blossom, and she actually followed them back to the tree to take a look. She noticed the fact that the flower was developing spiral patterns and decided to take a bet.

A couple days later, the Devil Fruit they were after formed from the bloom. In honor of their help, Gunko insisted on taking Lychor back to Mariejois to join the God's Knight trainee program. She justified this decision to Garling when he heard about it by informing him that Lychor is close in age to his son, and social development is very important for their work, now isn't it, sir?

That's how seven-year-old Shamrock and ten-year-old Lychor became friends. Begrudgingly on Shamrock's part, for the record. Lychor was simply happy to be accepted.

On the topic of the Devil Fruit the Knights were after..... Lychor eventually stole and ate it after discovering They were planning on just— storing it away. Maybe using it as a Native Hunting Competition prize, at most.

The Devil Fruit was called the Craft-Craft Fruit/Shuwan-Shuwan No Mi. Anything the User crafts with their own hands will work the exact way they need it to. The more they created from scratch, the better it will work. It can even function in ways that make no sense, like a paper boat enlarging enough to ride & bring them where they need to go without any navigation/steering required, or a paper star turning into a small ball of light that follows their hand to light up an area.

After eating the Fruit, they chose not to tell anyone about it. The only one among the God's Knights who knows about it is Shamrock, which is why they're always with him. They served loyally for years, never once stepping out of line, despite their preference of listening to Shamrock and Gunko over other superiors.

They have not abandoned their morals. They deeply respect their fellow Knights, mainly for taking them in, but Lychor will never disrespect humans. They grant swift deaths and entirely ignore the slaves fluttering around them, quietly leaving medicinal flowers where the hurt ones will find them.

The reason they stay in the God's Knights, despite their own morals, is more than just respect for Gunko & Shamrock. Lychor craves knowledge. They know they can't leave after being Marked, and at this point, they don't want to. Imu, above all else, is the most fascinating thing to them.

They want to know everything they can about the Abyss, the Marks, the Immortality, Imu, the old worlds— Knowledge is their sole goal, morality is a rabbit under their talons as far as they're concerned at this point. They're too far in.

... Their preference for wavering morality is probably why Doflamingo took a liking to them, hm?

Lychor met him while patrolling a beautiful island that a Celestial Dragon was set to visit soon. They ran into Doflamingo and his crew, who were scouting out the area for Underworld dealings. Doffy immediately realized they were a Knight and pulled them aside for a "conversation"

He was planning on just murdering them, but that short conversation— The way their eyes sparkled with curiosity instead of fear when he tried to use Conqueror's Haki on them— it peaked his interest. He told Lychor of the base at Spider Miles, inviting them to visit whenever they were bored. An escape from the Noble standards, in exchange for never mentioning Doffy was in the area.

A visit once every few months turned to every month, and then to once a week. Sometimes several times a week if possible. The two grew closer steadily, curiosity and control dancing around each other like circling wolves.

After Doflamingo got topped and had a realization about himself their first night together, they officially got together. (ship name: lydof, or laceleaf) Lychor took some feathers off his extravagant coat and made themselves a necklace, one that functions basically as a Vivre Card due to their Devil Fruit.

They stopped visiting after Minion Island. Lychor had befriended Corazon during their visits to Doffy, and was disgusted that he would kill his own flesh and blood. They also doubted their own safety if he was willing to do something like that to his own little brother.

They kept the necklace, however. Kept an eye out for newspapers about him.

... and still, the Marines wonder how Donquixote Doflamingo went missing from his cell in Impel Down only a handful of months after his imprisonment.
