a girl asked me to sponsor her tonight!!!! Still pretty crazy that people see something in me that they want. Iโm so so excited (and v nervous) to start working with her and give her what so many people have given me โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Personal crap
Sooooooo........Iโve been sober for 9 months, and I started attending AA meetings last month.ย And as of a couple days ago I got a sponsor! At least on my end I feel like we really clicked and Iโm really grateful for everything all this has brought me so far, and I canโt wait to see where it all goes.

Checking on 8th Street
The rain was not supposed to start until after noon, but the streets around us were already wet when we got up this morning. The actual rain came along later in the day and continued through the evening all the way to bedtime. The overnight low was 39 degrees, and the high only made it to 51.
Another drop in my blood sugar today, falling to 133, which is the lowest it has been since the year began.
Once Nancy and I had finished our coffee and played the Saturday online brain games, I checked on the status of my Flickr account and other social media. Nancy cleaned up something that had spilled in one of the bins we had packed.
Then we had oatmeal for breakfast and cleaned up the dishes after. Nancy continued packing away a few more things while I got dressed and ready to head out and meet my sponsee at noon. On the way there, I stopped at a new coffee shop, Espresso Express, and got a nice mocha.
After meeting with Bill, I returned home, and Nancy and I enjoyed a small snack before taking off. We donated a few items to St. Vinnieโs, then went by Native Coffee to get a mocha. From there we went to the 8th Street house, parked in front, then walked over to Kathleenโs, where we ran into Kyle and Seran and Sophie.
After a brief visit with them all, which included Nancy donating a few things to Kathleen, we all walked over to our future house and checked out the progress. The flooring is all done, the cabinets are in place, all of the appliances except the stove are in place, and the bathroom is well under way.
Kyle and Ronin will both be away for a few days in the next week, so we wonโt be moving everything in, but the second bedroom can be a holding place for a lot of the stuff we have already boxed up.
When we finished checking out the house, Nancy and I came home and napped. Then I got back on the computer for more Flickr updates, including posting three more images from a visit to Tucsonโs Agua Caliente Park in 2005.
After Nancy enjoyed a glass of wine, we started working on dinner. I got a pot of green beans ready for steaming, and Nancy warmed up the leftover rice and orange chicken, which was just as tasty as the night before.
Once we had eaten and cleaned up, we did our streaming for Saturday evening, beginning with the first episode of the new series of โGrace,โ a police drama based on the bestselling novels by Peter James. We followed that with another episode of โRiot Women.โ
The rain is expected to continue throughout the night and all day tomorrow. Tonightโs low will be in the mid-40s, and Sundayโs high might get up to 50 degrees.
We will, of course, be doing church in the morning, and the Sunday recovery meeting is on my schedule for the evening. With the kind of weather in the forecast, we might just find ourselves sticking around the house for most of the day, doing more organizing and packing.
