Hi I made another Splatoon idol group. I know I have Splashdown and Sashimi Spectacle already but I saw Deep Cut and I had to. CoralStar and Octoprism were influences for me as per usual along with the official idols and groups we have in Splatoon! I do imagine that Precious is the one that mainly pushes the group.
Lilac is based from a violet blanket octopus, Vivi is based from a striped pyjama squid, and Precious is based from a golden cuttlefish. I was inspired a lot by Riva of CoralStar and Pearl when I was designing Precious. Also I had to bring in pinks and frills and give her a fancier princess look. Vivi and Lilac were also fun to design, though I imagine they end up tending to blend more to the back much to their chagrin. Vivi and Lilac are friends outside of the group. I imagine its more of a business thing because of Precious wanting to be a star and an idol. Onstage and during their podcast, they do have a stronger performance dynamic because they have to, but outside of that, it's more strained.Â
I do want to work on developing these guys more. Lilac handles a lot of the group choreography while Vivi puts their all into music production. Precious handles a lot of the marketing and lyrics, though her wealthy family helps lay off the load on her. I imagine Precious is quite spoiled and demanding and doesn't try to work as hard because she doesn't feel the need to. I do think she will get a massive reality check at one point.Â
Lilac's signature color is purple, Precious's is pink, and Vivi's is yellow. Lilac and Precious go by she/her pronouns while Vivi goes by they/them.Â
