This has been a day I've been waiting for ever since I was little, and it finally happened. My friends, family, and partner were there to support me through it all, and I couldn't be any happier. Being able to walk across the stage and grab a diploma I worked so hard for felt like a dream. 13 years of assignments, projects, labs, and exams paid off in this one moment. School was never particularly a great place for me. I started struggling with my academics in primary school, and it didn't help to know years later my teachers had noticed and promptly neglected me. I dealt with educational abuse up until the COVID pandemic, when my issues became too obvious to ignore, and I was diagnosed with ADHD and Autism in July of 2020, right before my 12th birthday. Though admittedly, I was in denial about it until 2 years later. Thanks to a new school, support from my parents, and a therapist, my academic life was higher than ever before, and I kept thriving despite the people telling me I wouldn't. I'm grateful to be done with this chapter of my life, but I will miss the friends I made, the teachers who were always kind and understanding, and my choir most of all, but I am more than excited to start uni :)

This has been something that has affected many aspects of my life ever since I was born. Having to process and then accept this illness as a part of my life has been a decade long journey. As of writing this, I’ve been in clinical and endoscopic remission since January of 2024, meaning I am currently experiencing no symptoms. I still have it, as it doesn’t have a cure, and symptoms appearing again can and have been a very real concern. But now, I’m enjoying my life without the stressors of going to the hospital every month and taking medicines that destroy my immune system so Crohn’s doesn’t destroy my entire body. I’m so grateful for my health, and other people should value theirs too. <333
