not to crap on people's fun but I don't think the next game is gonna be a prequel just cuz Past won
it's been said that future games aren't gonna have a main story line involving the Squidbeak Splatoon, and, well.... the Great Turf War was pretty heavily intertwined with the Squidbeak.
Do I know for sure? No! Of course not, this is just a guess
I'd be stoked if it was a prequel. I'd be stoked if it's another modern-day game. I love Splatoon in it's entirety and I'm honestly happy with any new content provided
