No, things are not going according to plan.
We will make new plans.Ā
Worrying will not change things. Release outcome.
Worrying will not do anything,Ā
but make us feel worse than we already do.
All we can do right now, is the absolute best,Ā
with what we have in front of us, one day at a time.Ā
This will pass, but the world will be slightly different.
Some of us will never again take our wellness for granted.
Some of us will silence the inner cynic,Ā
the one that keeps repeating: āwhy botherā
āwe all go sometimeā andĀ āwe all got to die from somethingā.
Some of us will recognize how precious, how fragile,
human life can be. We may even change our habits.
Some of us will become more hygienic.Ā
We will not question, nor doubt the next time we hearĀ
of a viral illness, and we will know what to do.Ā
Some of us, will even learn to appreciate the work of individuals
holding our society together,Ā
from blue collar to white collar,Ā
farmer to wage earner,Ā
and all in between that societal norms haveĀ
conditioned us to categorize and judge.Ā
We will be different - but maybe
we needed to be different all along.Ā
Maybe the hustle,Ā
faster, better, bigger,Ā
insāt enough to save us.
Maybe our possessions,Ā
more desiring, more acquiring, more accumulating,
arenāt enough to shelter us,
Maybe our lofty goals, values and long to-do lists,
have nothing to do with our happiness - but appreciation does.
I know. Terrible things happen.Ā
Our world can be so easily overrun with darkness.
But maybe, just maybe, some of us will become the torch ...
