This Baked Spinach Gnocchi in Cream Sauce is a tasty and comforting weeknight meal that would also be great for a cozy Valentine's Day dinner at home. The garlic, nutmeg, and Parmesan-infused creamy sauce goes perfectly with the spinach-infused gnocchi, making a dish that is both tasty and filling.
Ingredients: 1 lb spinach gnocchi. 2 cups spinach leaves, chopped. 1 cup heavy cream. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 tablespoon olive oil. Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 190C 375F. Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-low heat. For about one minute, until the garlic smells good, add the minced garlic. To make the spinach wilt, add chopped spinach leaves to the pan and cook for two to three minutes. Crack in the Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. For about three to four minutes, cook until the sauce gets a little thicker. In the meantime, cook the spinach gnocchi according to the directions on the package. Let it drain well. Add the cooked gnocchi to the cream sauce and mix it all around. Place the gnocchi and sauce mix in a baking dish. If you want, you can add more Parmesan cheese on top. After the oven is hot, bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden. If you want, add fresh basil leaves as a garnish before serving. Enjoy while hot!
