There the fluorescent lights beat down on Yoonchae making her injuries much more stark against her soft pale skin and Megan without a word starts tending to her trying to recall as best as she can from her her own experience, back when she needed to patch herself up after a long night with the Tracksuits—before her powers and before her own haphazardly organized medical supplies were stashed at the very back of her closet, now gathering dust— once she's done she tops it off with a soft press of her lips against the bandages.

'To kiss it better' she jokes trying to lighten the mood but Yoonchae zeroes in on the faint warmth still emanating from the spot Megan's lips touched.

The gesture is childish and the act of doing this for her is uneeded but her tongue doesn't unstick from the roof of her mouth, not once. Not when Megan softly smiles with her lips crinkling at the corner, not when her fingers deft and precise carefully spread bruise cream all over her forearm, not when she softly sighs as she finishes like it was her own body she was tending to and now only now could she breath with relief, and especially not when she so softly kisses her bloodied—now bandaged— knuckles.

Yoonchae doesn't say a word, can't get anything past her teeth really. So she does what she does best and lets her actions speak for her. Trusting Megan to understand.

She leans her head forward and lets it rest against Megan's collarbones —the same ones that shattered just a few hours ago, Yoonchae could hear it snap apart— her hands find Megan's waist and she brings her closer and Megan helpless to Yoonchae's pull only slings her arms across her shoulders.

Megan starts playing with her hair, softly carding through it. She doesn't say a word when she feels soft presses against her skin too. A gesture returned so softly it feels like a promise.

And they stay like that for a bit, the ticking clock of the living room would tell them it's 3:45 a.m and they need to be at the meet point in 6 hours.

But Megan only breathes in and Yoonchae breathes out.

there's so much about this that i love! megan having a dusty first aid kid from before she got her powers, her noticing yoonchae's pained facial expressions, of course the kissing it better, yoonchae not feeling up to talking but being ok with that because it's megan and then her being the one to lean in for the hug?? her communicating through touch and megan immediately reciprocating?? they're so so soft i adore them

i read that as megan going to cuddle the rabbit ‘after yoonchae gets kidnapped by hydra’ and was like holy angst bomb

this is so cute though i love it. like yoonchae finding megan all curled up in her bed when she gets back. very sweet

they totally snuck into lara's lab once and each putting on one of her suits and flew ard in it. the whole time giggling and laughing madly. they managed to put everything back into place and thought they got away with it but the suits recorded everything and lara wasnt even mad, she knows the suits kept them safe. she was definitely inpress they got pass her security though. their giggling audio became lara's ringtone for whenever either of them calls

they once convinced dani to let them dress her up and put makeup on her and megan stole sophia's crown and forced dani to put it on which she did bc she cant say no to either of them esp not when yoonchae is full on pouting at her and megan is looking at her with so much unchecked glee. so dani leans into in and pulls funny poses bc they laugh so hard. and now they both have pics of dani in sophias crown prancing ard the kitchen which they swore to dani theyd never show anyone. promptly broke that promise soon as they saw sophia ofc

every now and then, megan will convince yoonchae to skip school. yoonchae doesnt really need that much convincing but she loves it when megan begs and cajoles and drags her name out "yoooooonchaeeeeeee" they usually spend the day doing normal shit like hitting the mall, hanging out the park. once they went to the library which was a mistake bc while yoonchae loved it, megan was a menace. expecting her to sit quietly was a little too much to ask of her

they both are pretty athletic and have great balance so naturally both assumed ice skating would be easy. wrong. they left all excited and confident and bundled up nicely and came back with busted chins and sore butts. they stayed so long on the ice despite how bad they were at it bc it was an excellent excuse to hold on to each other tightly. sophia coddling both and fussing over them when they got back more than made up for the scrapes and bruises, esp when she made them grilled cheese and tomato soup to warm up.

(and one moonz hc bc i miss them so much)

for her birthday, yoonchae gave manon a sketch she made of her. it was when they both had gone to the park with the dogs and in the sketch, manon was on the grass, legs out and leaning back, face turned up towards the sun. manon had stared so long at it when she unwrapped it that yoonchae started to get anxious. then she turned it over, frowned and looked at yoonchae "you gotta sign it for me girl" they both pretended not to see the tears in each others eyes when manon pulled yoonchae to her in a tight hug.

something i really like about this au is how important they all are to each other. there's something so intimate about having the sound of of someone laughing as the ringtone for when they all and i love that the team in this au are likely to actually do something like that

ok that's such a black widow coded thing for dani to do and i can't even explain why. it's so sweet though i love it

yoonchae pretending to be hesitant about skipping school just to hear megan beg her oh my meichae. them going to the library, yoonchae loving it, megan trying to love it as much as she does but getting a little fidgety. can i propose her settling a little when yoonchae starts reading aloud to her really softly because it's actually kind of nice to sit in the corner of this quiet place and lean against yoonchae and let her eyes close and just listen to her voice

guys ice skating is legit so hard to get good at i think i'm decently athletic and every time i've been i've felt like such a klutz. but superhero meichae pulling up and then absolutely eating shit the whole time is SENDING me. and them sticking around so they could hold onto each other these touch starved kids bro. then sophia coddling them, yes, bc of course she would (and also maybe insist she'd be way better at it then they are at it the whole time)

so I wanted to ask. firstly who's your favourite spiderman and why? personally I'd go with tom - It fluctuated between him and Andrew for a while tho and ik a lot of people like Tobey for the nostalgia plus all three are great spidermen. secondly which of any of the movies is ur favourite? 

back to the au tho. is there a specific version of spiderman u picture when writing spideychae? (like vibes and personality and things like that) bc ive been comparing her to tom's probably bc of the entire avengers thing but it could honestly be any.

also does she have the classic red and blue themed suit and is it based off any of the movie suits we've seen or is it based off one of the comic suits?

im assuming spideychae's patrols are all quite similar to tom's during the start of homecoming - helping old ladies with directions, the occasional bike robbery, probably waving at school kids. I wonder if she's more talkative as spiderman (bc he ofc always has his infamous mid-battle quips) or is she quite silent bc of the accent and lack of English? or does she use spiderman as an outlet to be able to practice her English without judging eyes in a way (not ofc on huge missions but when she's patrolling the more familiar streets).

the scene of ned dropping the Death Star (ouch) got me thinking of Megan first finding out yoonchae goes on night patrols bc she goes to see her in her room and she's just not there. so Megan waits around and is messing with one of the lego sets yoonchae has displayed around her room (many of which she built with Sophia) when yoonchae slips back in through the window and Megan proceeds to drop the thousand piece set and yoonchae has to shush her bc oh my god what if sophia or lara wake up!

another thing - spideychae making friends with all the stray animals across the city and the few that live in the shops she frequents, and then introducing them to megan when megan one day joins her on a night patrol. spideychae also probably has a lot of friends in weird places but like she wouldn’t be very aware of it - she’s the type to make friendships that don’t require a lot of talking which is why she’s friends with some street artist she’s always learning new art tips from, and the group of teenage skaters who aren’t aware she’s the same age as them but love chatting to her about their day, and the kids who play basketball at exactly 11pm every wednesday under the flickering street lights and always inviting her to play (even if she does refuse a few times). she’s more hesitant about opening up this part of her world to megan but she does anyway because… it’s megan

yay spideychae as friendly neighborhood spiderman!!!!!

ok i have a lot of love for tobey spiderman because those were the first spiderman movies i watched and they're just so classic, but tom holland's spidey has been growing on me big time lately. i don't know if i have a favorite movie off the dome, but i think i've rewatched homecoming more than any other spiderman movie...i put on the amazing spiderman as background noise sometimes too

that actually reminds me though i should brush up on no way home i've only seen it once

my first instinct was to say that i'm basing spideychae off of tom's spiderman more than the others, but i realized that she's also like. swaggy as hell and absolutely kind of has the cool loser loner thing going for her that andrew's spiderman has. so maybe both of them?

i think probably yes with the classic suit? i've been picturing it the classic red and blue but more muted...like darker tones, def closer to the amazing spiderman suit than tom's or tobey's. i've almost been wondering if the blue on that suit would actually be closer to black on spideychae's...i've also been thinking that it would probably have evolutions like most spidey suits have (like...iron spider anyone??)

with her patrols, i think she'd actually be really really quiet for kind of a long time. lots of hand gestures, notes left on lost bikes, etc. but as she starts to become more confident as spiderman, she starts to talk more (and maybe in connection with megan? like if they're going out on patrols together and she sees megan being chatty, that kinda gives her the confidence to do the same + she gets to kind of learn the script of superhero to civilian interaction). and the mid-battle quip thing, she'd absolutely have some zingers, but they'd be less frequent (and possibly more accidental than the classic spidey wit. insomniac spidey by the way talks during battle SO much i know it's part of the game but he's got one-liners for everything)

i actually love that lego set idea and i like that it seems like yoonchae isn't even upset with megan for breaking her lego set or for being in her space when she isn't there, she's just worried about waking lara and sophia up. mei chae <3

they take jinx very seriously. megan started it, she was on a mission to teach yoonchae as many normal teen behaviour as possible and they both said sophia's name at the same time and megan immediately jinxed yoonchae. girl cant speak until she completes a drawing of deadpool kicking ass on megan's arm. took her 20mins bc meg kept slipping out of her hold just to be an ass. the second time this happened, yoonchae jinxed megan and megan cant speak until she gets yoonchae a can of her favourite pringles. it took meg 2 hours to find a store that it in stock and yoonchae was so close to releasing her of the jinx because she kinda missed hearing meg's voice.

megan will start impromptu tag and yoonchae will chase her. doesnt matter if its at the grocery store, out on their walks, just before they about to have a meal(drives sophia up the wall but also makes her so happy to see her babies being happy)yoonchae is a cheater who will use her webs and megan will laugh hysterically as she crashes into yoonchae's arms.

they play thumb wars under the table at almost all hybe briefing that they have to go to. it always starts mild and calm but gets more aggressive until one of them accidentally bangs the table or snorts out loud

theyre perfect to share oreos together bc yoonchae likes just the biscuit and meg likes the cream stuffing

they watch snl together, yoonchae doesnt really enjoy it as much as meg does but she does look forward to megan doing one of her big head-thrown-back laughs and she enjoys when megan pauses to explain the references etc. yoonchae hummed "mmm watcha say" for weeks after that ep aired and megan's heart does a happy little squeeze when she hears it

megan wandering around the compound looking for yoonchae and being asked why she needs her (out of concern, because lara thinks maybe megan's upset or something) but then she just says that she wants to eat some cookies and lara's like '???'
