spidarrot posting, heres a render of one.. their bottom jaws are conspicuously oriented different in this image than what i showed before... must be nothing. anyways, hey got 2 bottom jaws, ancestrally speaking, earth vertebrates got their jaws from very specialized gill arches repurposed into our chompers. For Hīgra's "Ventrochords" (Spidarrot phylum), they had a proboscis that began shortening and specializing into the 3 mouthparts you see here. Their gills were located between the base of the abdomen and the end of the thorax, they have since been heavily repurposed into their lungs via their diaphragm-like gill arches

A piece of worldbuilding i ought to mention is that young spidarrots (usually infant but there are outliers), make a sort of "Awp!-Awp!-Awp!" sound when happy or excited, think of it like how humans make odd noises that come naturally, like laughing, or infant crying I'm also rather proud of the background i made this time, I've been trying to experiment with their weirdness

the smiling friends don't look so goo- "💥", what the fuck?, what's going on, I'm scared!? "✨✨" who the fuck are these guys!? i noticed the bunnypedes look suspiciously like charlie

So basically, i've been working on a worldbuilding project for the last 2 months that i'm currently calling the star scheme, think 28th century humanity, first contact via warped space ships only 30 years ago, and a selection of 4 silly aliens ill begin showing off, starting with the second sophonts i made- The Spidarrots (wont be their final name as i will probably do some loose conlang), these hexapods hail from planet Hīgra (name also WIP, but its portmanteu for high gravity), they used to live in jungle canopies were they would forage for fruits and pack hunt other animals via ambushing them. the order in which ive made the sophonts is relevant to when the "Bunnypedes found them also flag of what Martian Americans become because why the hell not?
