Spicy Seared Ahi and Avocado Sushi is a delicious twist on traditional sushi rolls. The combination of fresh ahi tuna, creamy avocado, and spicy mayo creates a burst of flavors in every bite. Searing the tuna adds a savory touch to the sushi, making it an irresistible dish for sushi lovers.
Ingredients: 2 cups sushi rice, cooked. 4 nori seaweed sheets. 1/2 lb sushi-grade ahi tuna, thinly sliced. 1 ripe avocado, sliced. 2 tbsp sriracha sauce. 1 tbsp mayonnaise. 1 tbsp sesame oil. 1 tsp soy sauce. 1/2 tsp sesame seeds. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Put mayonnaise, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, and sesame oil in a small bowl. Mix them together to make spicy mayo. Put a piece of nori on top of the bamboo sushi mat. Cover the nori sheet with a thin layer of sushi rice. Put avocado and ahi tuna slices down the middle of the rice. Put some hot mayonnaise on top of the avocado and tuna. Use the bamboo mat to roll the sushi up tightly, and then use water to seal the edges. Cut the sushi roll into small pieces that you can easily eat. Do it again with the rest of the ingredients. Warm up a nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Add sesame seeds to the tuna slices and season with salt and pepper. For about 30 seconds on each side, sear the tuna slices in the hot pan. Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit. Soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger should be served with the seared ahi sushi rolls.
