Indulge in the rich flavors of Scandinavian cuisine with this Apple and Cream Parfait. Caramelized apples, spiced rum-infused cream, and crunchy granola create a delightful dessert that captures the essence of the region.
Ingredients: 4 apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg. 2 cups heavy cream. 1/2 cup powdered sugar. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 3 tbsp spiced rum. 1 cup granola. Fresh mint leaves for garnish.
Instructions: Put chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan. While the heat is medium, cook the apples until they get soft and caramelized. Take it off the heat and let it cool down. Whip the heavy cream in a different bowl until soft peaks form. While whipping, add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract and keep going until stiff peaks form. Mix the spiced rum into the whipped cream mixture very slowly. Put the apples that have been caramelized, the whipped cream mixture, and the granola in serving glasses or bowls. Do this again and again until the glasses are full.
