the winter solstice happened almost a week ago for kiwi country, so i'm late, but time doesn't matter
so, today when i get home, i'm going to write a list of what i want to get go of and burn it over a blue candle. since it's winter, a blue candle seems fitting. then i'll write a list of goals i want to accomplish in the coming year (there's only two) and burn that over the candle.
and now that i've posted this, it means i can't back out and go straight to bed!

I'm super pumped because I'm starting to plan a nightmare protection jar for one of my friends (who has also told me she's banished demons from her house) so like as I've got my list of ingredients for it growing I'm super excited because it's gonna be a pretty damn powerful protection jar if all goes according to plan. Now, time to make some war water so I can charge the future spell jar with it.
I’m, as I’ve probably said before, on the hunt for a new and hopefully better paying job. So I’m working on a spell to keep the hiring manager’s attention on how awesome my resume is. I’d seen one before that suggested, essentially enchanting glitter and sprinkling that in the envelope with your resume, the idea being that the glitter and magic gets on their hand and sticks there, leading them to pay more attention to you and you getting hired. I’m not a big fan of that because I’m not a huge fan of glitter having had to clean up a ton of it at my old job and it seems really unprofessional given that glitter is more associated with kids’ craft projects than anything else I can think of off the top of my head.
I had the idea to use a copy of my up dated resume that I mis-folded as, essentially a stand in for the ones I was handing out. A sympathetic magic kind of deal, possibly combined with a sort of jar spell. I want to fold the messed up resume into a box and add things like dried rosemary, apple peal, maybe even a few chunks of rock sugar in place of honey to sweeten the spell for me, tie it closed with green thread, and seal it with wax. I could also add the names of where I’m applying so it’s a little more specific.
Working on a thing for work to help deal with a co-worker. She’s something of a bully, so she really pushes my buttons, and I’ve already talked to my manager about not working with her as much. So my plan is to work up something to help that along and or something to help keep my perspective on stuff when I do have to work with her.
Talking to my manager should go a long way on the first one, so I’m not super concerned there. It’s definitely a thing to keep on the back burner though. Maybe just a passive “this doesn’t work well” kind of deal for that. Not sure on specifics though.
So far all I can think of for the second part of that is that I tend to use lapis lazuli as a chill out stone, because I have some beads of that that I can just kind of roll around my fingers and the deep blue is really nice. This part is all about me and my reactions, so I feel like I can be a lot more forward with it. Since I’m learning to crochet I’m thinking maybe incorporate a couple of the beads into something small I could keep in my pocket to fiddle with when I feel like I’m starting to get short with people. Nothing huge though.
