Part of the reason kingdon is so appealing to me is the weird loser girl getting to have the hot fail man and he’s obsessed with her no matter what anyone tries to say.

while i come up with many different scenarios of how leshley get together, i think my main one to be more in-canon is that they have a somewhat on-and-off sort of relationship. they're not in anything official because leon's afraid of it, but he always seeks ashley out after missions or clings to her. it's his one selfish desire, and he knows that, but he can't let her go either... even if he fears he's hurting her in the process. he can't stand her being with anyone else, but also can't really give her what she wants. he hates himself for it but loves her too much. until vendetta, this continues. i think that leon doesn't stay in super contact with ashley throughout the years, probably every few months, but he keeps tabs on her through social media (which he downloaded just to see her profile) or tabloid/magazines. leon's drunk and depressed especially during vendetta, so i think it's during a time where he thinks he's truly chased ashley away. afterward, he gets the nerve to go seek her out and apologize, and eventually start something official
