Beautiful first day of Spring at Speke Hall today. Can’t wait for it to look like this....

I’m not one to dish out parenting advice but if I had one tip it would be to get your kids out of the house whenever possible. I used to dream of cozy days at home, playing games together and laughing merrily...and then I had kids! Much as I love them, I know they are much easier to entertain and are happier exploring the great outdoors. We’ve headed out again to one of our favourite haunts at Speke where miraculously it has stopped raining and the sun has come out. We feel proper old as we’ve just told some teenage girls off for the most foul language- not sure the National Trust wild approve and now we are off for hot chocolate. The garden at Speke Hall used to be a moat - until it was drained in the 18th century.
