Skye sat comfortably, her laptop perched upon the dashboard of her van. The world around her was strangely quiet, unlike most days where the streets would be thriving with people. No, that time the roads and sidewalks were bare. Skye kind of enjoyed that. She had always operated better whilst alone, as solitude quickly became her best friend. Skye had heard tales of people similar to her, people who believed that their black and white world was quite enough for them. People who were convinced that the color which sits beneath the surface harbored absolutely no value to be seen. She had believed that, too. Until she could make out footsteps from outside of her van, followed by the large door flinging open.

It was almost too easy for him, she'd bet.

Only moments before had she been safely secured in a SHIELD safe house, far away from any threatening predators.

                             N o w;; Well, one was standing right in front of her.

His gun was pointed directly at her head, she quickly noted. It was for obvious reasons that she figured whatever it was that Ward came to do to her, it involved her b l o o d.

Her mouth fell open and she progressed into a state of shock. Why wasn't he pulling the trigger? She was caught off guard, yes, but it was not simply that. It was the way that Ward's gun was held, how his hand was basically gripping the gun for dear life and the fact that he had recently began to sweat buckets---

She had now finally found her voice again and so, she spoke.
