I think this does add a bit more dimension.

So, after seeing a tutorial by SparklePipsi (my friend purchased one of her fukus and I really liked how the chest armor looked!), I realized her version of chest armor was very similar to my own - only she used felt to create the puff whereas I was using a self bias. I figured it couldn't be so hard to take apart the fuku and add some new style armor... and ended up pretty much taking apart my entire fuku because I decided the white became a little 'yellow' and there was a small pin hole in the bodice from my cat. So basically I am redoing the entire white part of the costume while reusing the bows, skirt, etc.

Here is what I have so far:

I'm not going to discuss what I did because you can just go to her tutorial and see for yourself. Anyway, my neckline ended up a bit big because I thought about attaching this new top piece to the rest of the fuku(to make it  one piece like before) but I changed my mind since then. Fortunately this will not interfere with the sailor collar I removed from the original chest armor I had and you won't notice the difference between the neckline size. :)

Oh, and I also bought a new mannequin:

It was around 200 dollars on Amazon from Roxy display - the quality isn't nearly as good as the Superior dress form to the left of it(which is also much older, therefore much uglier) but for 200 I am not complaining and sometimes you do get what you pay for. The new dressform is also two sizes smaller - I'm kind of surprised I'm actually that tiny! It looked like a kid's form next to the size 8. Anyway, I actually purchased this dressform because for my next costume I'm not using a pattern and so it's important i have a form in my size *gasp*
