Crimson Rose is a short coming of age superhero film with a strong, female protagonist.

For my film I'm trying to fill my main character's wall with Superhero posters! I came up with a clever way to do this by reaching out to the cosplay community and asking them if they would donate $5 to enter in a raffle to have their superhero cosplay put on Aurora's wall. Only 10 cosplayers will be selected. But even if you aren't chosen we will share your photograph (and social media page) on the Facebook page. And your photograph will be in the extra features on the DVD. This $5 will help support the film and will help with set decoration! So if you can spread the word it would be extremely appreciated! Crusader - Diablo III - Helmet Making of DONE! 20 hours and around one full XL sheet of Worbla later I’m really done! It also turned out extremely massive and heavy (2.6 pounds!) and I guess it will be anything then nice to wear it. I’m also really not looking forward to paint this monster and guess I will just keep on working on the rest of the armor at first. I also really need to think about some padding and just hope it won’t be to hard to breath in it. However since the eyes are pretty huge and the there is a big open spot between the “mask” and the actual helmet on the top it should be fine. Well, but wearing the whole costume will be… interesting I guess. But heeeeeey: At least no make up is necessary this time! XD Want also to make some armor? Sorry for being gone for so long!

I've been busy working on a film so I have not a lot of time right now to update! But since it's my winter break… I have time!

Since I am in wig hunting mode - I have plans for an upcoming cosplay - I thought to post a few tutorials from one of my favorite wig site! I am a huge fan of Epic Cosplay wigs! WIG PROCESS

1. fresh from mail box!

2. Trimmed, layered, razored

3. 1st go at curling wig with hot water.

4. final after two more times with curling in hot water.

Now just need to style refine it a little more- the bangs mainly. Thoughts on it? (was trying to give a bit of a more realistic approach…)

So for my first cosplay I'm doing Mello from death note. Mello is blonde with slightly oarnge tints but the wig I baught is oarnger than I first thought. Is there a way to lighten synthetic wigs? Or make it look more blonde? Thank you!

Sorry for just responding! Been really busy with school. Hmmm... Normally the only wigs that you can change color is a blonde or lighter colored wig - people use sharpies or some type of ink to "dye" it. But since it's synthetic you can't actually dye or bleach it.

One thing I saw online on how to "lighten" synthetic wigs is using powder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCdvsNUAfy8 You can try it out and see if this works.

I really hope using the powder works! I hate when you end up with a wig that's the wrong color! It's happened to me before. If you ever want to know about good wig stores and tips on how to make sure you will get the wig you're looking for let me know!

What's up, FTC? For NYCC I'm making some craft foam armor, and sealing it with gesso. Unfortunately, I forgot to think about detailing! Is it possible to slap some model magic on, post-gesso? Would mm just suck it all up, or worse, fall off? Since the foam is protected, would hot glue work? Or would it not bond to the gesso? Any advice would be appreciated, please and thanks :)

You probably want to use epoxy glue or gorilla glue - it's a lot stronger and it should bond to the gesso! (Just don't get it on your skin.) I once used hot glue and everything fell off during the convention. Also see what looks better; model magic or craft foam. Because model magic cracks over time since it's more like a clay.

I'm going to continue to post worbla tutorials since they seem to be so popular!

But I'm curious are any of you going to NYCC? If so are you doing last minute cosplays - or still working on parts of it? Need some help figuring out how to complete them before next week?
