Yeah, sometimes infection can take hold during those procedures, or a person can be allergic to the materials or something and it fucks up a lot of stuff. I’ve got two root canal teeth left, which will be getting pulled once I’m well enough to undergo more surgeries, cause no matter what they do to treat them they can’t get my body to stop rejecting them. It’s causing systemic inflammation and a lot of pain for me.

Unpopular opinion about XXX character?

This is hard because I no longer know what the popular and unpopular opinions are about Kylo! And so many of my opinions I recognize are really headcanons. 

I think it is canon that although Kylo is interested in Rey romantically, he isn’t romantically possessive, and a lot of the places that people point to trying to argue that point have other things going on that some Reylos are blind to because they are so caught up in looking at only Rey and Kylo that they miss the larger context. I’m not sure how popular or unpopular this is now, but it used to be unpopular and it’s definitely my biggest opinion right now about Kylo.

It’s so bad, any time people talk about not hitting your kids

for fucking real. i’m actually kind of pissed at the way people are trying to justify it.

like? My mother never hit me, by my father did.

I knew *why* he was hitting me, but the only thing it taught me was to fear going to his house on his weekends. It didn’t curb my behaviour, it just made me afraid.

I would NEVER inflict that fear on a child.

I seriously can’t fathom being able to justify hurting someone like that. Or how people can think that physically hurting someone in such a way that their emotional and mental state suffers ISN’T abuse??????????

actual Unpopular Opinions (side note: this comes from STEM academia)- academia has not evolved from a profession for White Men Who Have Too Much Time On There Hands To Think About Things 

- academia does not favor meritocracy. It favors familiarity and is immensely Risk Adverse; this is why the same 5 schools get all the Grant Money while everyone else scrambles for funds to stay a float

- it values prestige, or the illusion of prestige, more than actual science at times and thus is willing to protect people, usually men, who have it at the detriment of others and ethics

- no really, you shouldn’t have to have whisper networks of “so-and-so is on their 3rd grad student wife beware/never get in an elevator with X/etc etc etc”

- Not getting a tenure track position is Not The End of the World Nor Is It A Waste Of Your Degree, they’re just jealous that you’re flexible and you’ll have a life ....and probably A Better Paycheck
