BonChon, meaning “my hometown” in Korean, is an international fast-casual restaurant brand that originated in South Korea in 2002.  Its distinct cooking technique and addictive sauces have made BonChon Chicken a well-loved global phenomenon. It opened its first store in the Philippines in 2010 and has since expanded to several branches all over the country.

Our host for the launching was the popular Sam Y.G. of Magic 89.9's Boys Night Out. He described BonChon's new tagline, Change is Delicious, as the restaurant's mission to be an agent of "delicious change" to our lives.

It was nice too sit next to a fellow foodie, Mr. Dude for Food himself Gerry San Miguel, who is always such a pleasure to chat with.

Mr. Scott Tan, the very young Managing Director and Owner of BonChon Chicken Philippines, officially unveiled their newest flavor to the public. It is astonishing that BonChon has grown so fast from its first branch at Ayala Triangle in 2010 to 87 total branches nationwide. After the first two original flavors, Soy Garlic and Sweet & Spicy, they since added Honey Citrus and now, Crunchy Garlic.

I took a bite of their fried chicken bathed in the new Crunchy Garlic flavor and I just loved it! It has that sweet tangy taste with a mild garlic flavor to enhance it even further. Personally, I like this flavor more than the other three variants. I guess I will be visiting BonChon a lot more often.

The new Crunchy Garlic flavor has the same price as the other flavors, so you can still get the same value whatever flavor you choose. You can order the Crunchy Garlic Medium Rack (P375) which has 6 pieces of Drumsticks or Thighs or 12 pieces of Wings in Crunchy Garlic sauce. What's great about BonChon is that you can mix and match your chicken parts as well as your flavors, and best of all, everything is cooked-to-order! Unlike other fast food outlets, BonChon serves freshly cooked dishes only upon order so you get fresh quality food at a fast, efficient, and affordable price.

You can also get the 4-piece Wing Boxed Meal (P155) in Crunchy Garlic which already comes with rice and a drink.

With the onset of the Lenten season, Crunchy Garlic is also available with their fish meals. You can ask for the Crispy Fish Rice Box (P155) in their Crunchy Garlic flavor or in its original flavor. Or you can have BonChon's other yummy dishes like the crunchy Calamari (P135) or their new Seoul Fried Rice (P45). You can actually upgrade your rice meals to Seoul Fried Rice (+P20) if you prefer.

For desserts, BonChon also offers their Apple Caramel Crispy Crepe (P60) and Mangoes & Cream Crispy Crepe (P60) which taste like apple and mango pies. They also have Korean Yogurts (P75) or Ko-Yo like this Mango Sans Rival which is filled with toppings. I love how BonChon Chicken continues to innovate and expand their selection and menu items. Crunchy Garlic is now available at all BonChon outlets nationwide. Change is Delicious, and with BonChon, I definitely agree.
