My 10 Must Have Baby Items
These items are my opinions on the Top 10 most needed items for babyās first two months!
I chose these items from my experience and may vary from person to person.
Fisher-Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker, Bunny
This is a life saver seat. It was a little too big for her when she was first born, but now that she is 2 months she is more interested in the world. She likes to sit up and look at everything, especially the ceiling fans. This seat is light enough you can move it to room to room. I move it to the kitchen when Iām fixing her a bottle and into the bedroom when Iām getting ready for the day. Itās also large enough that she can continue to sit in it as she grows.
Motorola MBP33 Wireless Video Baby Monitor with Infrared Night Vision and Zoom
Stephen was able to purchase this with his BestBuy points which was awesome because itās one of the more expensive monitors. However, itās literally the best rated out there. It moves so you can we can change the position when she wiggles around without walking in the room and waking her up. There is a mic so we can talk to her if we need. Itās great quality video in the day time or night time and it also plays music! This gives us a peace of mind knowing we can see everything. Itās a great item to put on your registry for someone else to purchase as a big ticket item. ;)
The First Years Infant To Toddler Tub with Sling, Blue
My sinks are too small and my tub is too big to give Raleigh a bath in. Every once in a while Iāll hop in the bath with her and just hold her while I bathe her. She loves to kick her feet and I tell her sheās a mermaid. Unfortunately, we donāt have time to be mermaids every night so I put her in the infant tub and let the warm water run in. Itās comfortable for her to sit in and large enough that I am not hurting myself trying to reach her to wash her. The sling portion keeps ears and face area out of the water. This is her bedtime routine so we use this all the time!
Munchkin Deluxe Drying Rack
I never knew how many times I would wash the same bottle⦠but you do. I have enough bottles now that I wash them before bed every night and itās the perfect amount to last until the next night. I love this drying rack because it holds 8 bottles and 8 nipples. Itās small but holds what I need it to. I also use glass bottles and I need something sturdy enough to accommodate for that.
Mother's Lounge Carseat Canopy, Belle
Some people compliment me on how cute my Carseat Canopy is, especially since Raleighās name in embroidered on the front, but some people give me dirty looks because Iām keeping her hidden. I personally love it! I wouldnāt call myself a germaphobe⦠but I am a first time mom who doesnāt want germs on her baby! So yes, old lady at Walmart. There is a cover over my baby. That means no, you cannot see or touch her. Sorry!
Gerber Baby-Girls Newborn Owl 4 Pack Flannel Receiving Blanket, Owl Pink, One Size
Raleigh does what the pediatrician likes to call āhappy spit-upā. There is nothing wrong with it, but she isnāt the neatest eater. We started out with burp cloths and then realized that the receiving blanket were just as effective and covered a larger area. We use them on the floor when she is playing, on beds, when she is napping, covering her up in her car seat, wiping off drool from her mouth⦠literally anything you can think of. I donāt think itās possible to have too many of these around the house!
HoMedics SS-2000G/F-AMZ Sound Spa Relaxation Machine with 6 Nature Sounds, Silver
I really thought we wouldnāt get much use out of this when I first got this, but now there is a constant heart beat noise going in my house every day. She loves to hear it when she is sleeping either at night or for a day time nap. Plus itās nice for me and Stephen who donāt always go to sleep when she does and we donāt have to be super quiet around the house because the heartbeat sound drowns out the regular household noises. It does have other options like waterfalls, rain forest, white noise, etc.
Gerber Baby-Girls Infant 2 Pack Girl Blanket Sleeper, Ballet, 12 Months
I got literally 10,000 onesies at my baby shower. Ok, maybe that was an exaggeration but I barely received any sleepers. She normally lives in these things. They are nice because they keep her feet warm (she kicks off socks EVERYTIME we try and put them on her), keep her body warm (since youāre not supposed to put blankets on them) and I think she feels more comfortable and safe when she is all zipped into a warm sleeper. Iām sure when summer comes around she will be in more onesies during the day, but for now I LOVE these sleepers.
Fisher Price Cradle 'n Swing - My Little Snugapuppy
We all love this swing. Itās good for me and Stephen because we can put her down while weāre making a bottle or watching TV and she is so content staring at the mirror mobile. Maybe she is just too much like her mom and enjoys looking at herself, but if it keeps her entertained we are fine with that! We love the different speeds, seat positions and choices of music. Itās also a baby sleep miracle. When I know Raleigh is tired but she is fighting going down in her crib I will wrap a blanket around her and turn the crib on. She falls right asleep!
doTERRA Petal Diffuser
I use this in Raleighās room. At night I diffuse Lavender and Breathe. The Lavender helps her relax enough to fall asleep and the Breathe helps prevent boogies so she can breathe better. If Stephen or I are feeling like we might be getting sick I will diffuse OnGuard during the day to clear her air and make sure she isnāt getting any extra germs. This diffuser holds a lot of water and even has and on/off light feature that makes for an excellent night light in a nursery!
