When you do something different people may not like it. A person, who read my book, asked me if I would conduct a motivational session using excerpt my first book 'Version One and a Half'? My ans was 'no'. My ans was followed by another question from her; So why write the book? My ans was: I don't write to preach, or to motivate someone, & i definitely don't write to please others. I write because I like it, I write because I feel like writing & I write because I love to share. I definitely don't intend to use my books to conduct motivational sessions. That put her off big time but here's my point. I don't intend to follow what other authors are doing, I intend to follow what I want to do. Is that bad? I don't think so. Soulitaire – One Of Many Parts

Martin Rotheneder is a man of many faces. Some of his former incarnations were called Ben Martin, I Am Cereals and The Black Riders. This new project of his called Soulitaire – Martin Rotheneder is also a man of many clever puns – has a Whitest-Boy-Alive-feel to it, and that is a sound that suits him well.
It also gives me a chance to tell you about that time we went to Primavera Festival and freaked out because Erlend Øye was standing next to us. We were so uncool about it. We were even doing that awful pretend photo thing where you act like you’re taking a picture of something else only to capture him in the background.
Soulitaire is playing live at Waves Vienna 2016 on 30 September, 8 PM at Schubert Theater.
