The music moves between indie soul, lo-fi folk, dream pop, and alt hip-hop, pieced together from basement recordings, studio sessions, and voice memos captured everywhere from forests to friends' living rooms. "pollen" feels like the perfect distillation of the project’s broader mission: a search for stability amidst constant flux. The track began, like much of the EP, in a confessional space -- just piano and vocals -- but quickly evolved into a warmer, expansive, and more restless electronic territory, heavily inspired by the drum production on Sampha’s Lahai.

Lyrically, the song hits on that universal friction between distraction and the slow, grueling work of healing. It explores what we reach for when we’re feeling vulnerable: the partying, the new towns, the quick fixes. By the second verse, the focus shifts to the more difficult internal work of actually sitting with what you feel instead of running from it.

The EP itself, A RIVER RUNS THROUGH ME, is deeply shaped by the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and the loss of what we previously considered "home." It’s a record about ephemerality, disconnection, and the attempt to verify whether the world is still solid when the ordinary markers of your life have been erased.
